About this role

WHO WE ARE

We’re not in the wing business. We’re in the flavor business. It’s been our mission to Serve the World Flavor since we first opened in 1994, and we’re just getting started. 1997 saw the opening of our first brand partner operated Wingstop location, and by 2002 we had served the world one billion wings. It’s flavor that defines us and has made Wingstop one of the fastest growing brands in the restaurant industry.

Above all else – our success is largely due to our people and our core values, or what we call The Wingstop Way of being entrepreneurial, service-minded, fun, and authentic. We believe having a strong people foundation centered on these collective values creates a crave-worthy culture and talented team, as well as ensures our brand is poised for accelerated growth. We all win together.

WHAT WE’LL NEED

We’re looking for a hands-on, concept-driven Art Director who can bring ideas to life across social, digital, retail, and broadcast while helping shape a bold, unmistakable Wingstop visual identity.

You’ll develop campaigns from the ground up and execute day-to-day creative across multiple touchpoints. You understand how ideas should flex across platforms, creator ecosystems, and social environments while remaining consistent with the brand.

Working closely with copywriters, designers, content creators, and cross-functional partners, you’ll turn cultural signals—from social trends and music to sports and digital behaviors—into work that feels relevant, and elevated.

The ideal candidate is equal parts thinker and maker: a strong conceptual creative and visual storyteller who is ready to design, iterate, and solve problems in real time.

You’ll bring strong graphic design fundamentals and use emerging AI tools for exploration, prototyping, visualization, and execution.

Ultimately, you’ll help define how Wingstop shows up across culture, platforms, and experiences as the brand continues to grow.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Co-create original concepts, winning brand moments and integrated campaign ideas across multiple channels that drive engagement and business impact

  • Partner closely with copywriters and other creatives to develop visually-led storytelling and brand campaigns

  • Design and execute creative assets across social, digital, CRM, retail, OOH, presentations, and marketing materials that drive awareness, engagement, consideration, and broader business objectives

  • Own visual development and execution across both campaign and always-on creative work

  • Develop social-first creative ideas designed to perform across modern platforms, creator collaborations, partnerships, and content ecosystems

  • Translate cultural trends, digital behaviors, and audience insights into relevant, visually compelling creative that feels true to the brand

  • Help shape and evolve Wingstop's visual identity, creative systems, and design language across campaigns, content, partnerships, and customer touchpoints

  • Create high-quality design work quickly in a fast-paced, iterative environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines

  • Leverage AI-powered creative tools to accelerate concept development, visual exploration, creative iteration, and production workflows

  • Present work with clear thinking, rationale, and attention to creative detail

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with social, brand, marketing, and production teams to execute integrated work that supports business goals

  • Collaborate effectively with agency partners, production companies, freelancers, creators, and external creative partners to ensure work remains strategically aligned and creatively excellent

  • Contribute to production and execution needs across photoshoots, content captures, campaign launches, and brand initiatives

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong creative standards and attention to detail

  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and creative excellence

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Work consistently elevates Wingstop’s visual identity and creative standard

  • Ideas result in culturally relevant work that strengthens brand awareness, drives engagement, increases consideration, and contributes to business growth

  • Delivers high-quality work quickly and consistently in a fast-paced, iterative environment

  • Demonstrates strong visual storytelling and conceptual problem-solving across formats and platforms

  • Shows curiosity and adaptability by incorporating emerging technologies and AI-enabled workflows to improve creative output and efficiency

  • Becomes a trusted creative partner across creative, brand, and marketing teams

  • Brings a proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach to creative development and execution

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

EXPERIENCE

  • 3–6 years of art direction, design, or integrated creative experience, ideally within an advertising agency.

  • Proven ability to concept and execute across multiple channels and formats

  • Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, and design craft

CREATIVE & CRAFT

  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to develop visually-led creative ideas

  • Excellent graphic design skills with strong typography, layout, composition, and visual systems fundamentals

  • Ability to execute polished creative work across digital, social, retail, presentation, and campaign formats

  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, brand design, and art direction principles

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to support ideation, concept development, visual exploration, and creative production workflows

  • Design experience in Figma, and motion graphics and animation skills in After Effects are a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the craft

CULTURAL AWARENESS

  • Deep understanding of the cultural spaces that influence the Wingstop audience—including sports, music, fashion, entertainment, creators, fandom, gaming, internet culture, and emerging social behaviors

  • Ability to identify culturally relevant opportunities and translate them into distinctive, brand-right creative experiences and visual storytelling

PEOPLE SKILLS

  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working across disciplines and stakeholders

  • Clear communicator, able to present and defend ideas thoughtfully

  • Open to feedback and able to iterate quickly

  • Self-starter who takes ownership and follows through

WHO YOU ARE

No job is too small. You recognize that the real work happens in the restaurants, and everything we do should support their success. You stay humble, roll up your sleeves, and always look for ways to help. You learn from others and contribute wherever you can.

You care deeply about doing great work and driving results. You’re curious, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to improve. You don’t just point out problems—you bring solutions, ideas, and perspectives that move the team forward.

You take full responsibility for your work and see things through to completion. You aren’t afraid to fail because you know that failure is a part of learning and growth. You take action, move fast, and keep pushing forward.

You lead with empathy, respect, and emotional intelligence. You collaborate effectively, fostering a culture of trust and constructive feedback. You understand the importance of teamwork and ensure that your actions build others up rather than break them down.

You push yourself and others to be better. You embrace healthy conflict, knowing that great ideas and strong teams emerge from honest, constructive conversations. You believe that leaders create leaders and are committed to fostering a culture of growth, challenge, and continuous improvement.
