Supplier Quality Engineer – Consultancy Assignment in Manufacturing Industry

We at WeQuel are now looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer in Finspång, where you will become an important part of the client's quality organisation with a focus on the turbine's Core Components. As SQE you work closely with suppliers and commodity managers with one shared goal: to secure qualified deliveries from qualified suppliers. You are a natural team player with strong leadership qualities and drive supplier development together with your interfaces.

You will become part of a multicultural environment with different departments both locally and globally – networking is a key to success. You will work with one or several of the client's commodity areas: castings, forgings, machining, welding and coating. Assignment is based on your background and experience.

Your responsibilities:

  • Leading supplier development projects

  • Qualifying suppliers together with a cross-functional team, including capacity assessment and initial audits

  • Leading cross-functional teams for product and process qualifications (PPQ) according to applicable processes and standards

  • Handling deviations through containment, root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive actions

  • Risk mitigation activities and follow-up on effectiveness

  • Supporting suppliers in following the client's Quality Management process and related tools

  • Monitoring supplier quality performance and initiating improvement programmes

  • Planning and performing regular supplier audits

  • Proactive collaboration with global teams and internal customers

  • Reporting and follow-up of supplier performance

You work in a dynamic and international environment where you independently drive your own flow forward while collaborating with several interfaces within the organisation, both locally and globally. You become part of a skilled and experienced team with mixed backgrounds, ages and experiences, where we learn from and with each other.

Requirements:

  • Experience within machining, castings, coating, forging or welding – advantageous

  • Technical profile with experience within R&D or production engineering – highly advantageous

  • Experience in project management – advantageous

  • Engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) or equivalent

  • Very good knowledge of English, spoken and written. Swedish highly advantageous

  • Knowledge of quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA and process management

  • Experience in reporting and following up supplier performance

  • Ability to see the bigger picture and prioritise the right issues

  • Result-oriented, structured and with an understanding of commercial relations

  • Good communication skills and strong leadership qualities

  • Some travel is included in the role
