Hardware Engineer Softstarter

Location: Västerås, Sweden

Are you an experienced Hardware Engineer with a strong background in electronics development and embedded systems? We at WeQuel are currently looking for a Hardware Engineer Softstarter for a consulting assignment with one of our clients.

In this role, you will work with the development of next-generation softstarter products, taking electronics hardware from concept and circuit design through verification, prototype testing and implementation in serial production. You will be part of a cross-functional R&D environment, collaborating closely with software, system architecture, product management and production engineering.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for electronics hardware development throughout the product development lifecycle. The role combines hands-on circuit design and laboratory verification with technical coordination, documentation and collaboration across different engineering disciplines.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits from concept to serial production

  • Create schematics and define requirements and constraints for PCB layout

  • Define verification specifications and perform simulation, prototype testing and hardware verification

  • Document developed solutions and support implementation within production engineering

  • Translate market and system requirements into hardware requirements together with product owners, system architects and software developers

  • Take responsibility for hardware development activities, including risk identification, technical targets and coordination with suppliers and other functions

  • Monitor new technologies and identify opportunities for future product development

  • Contribute to technical innovation and intellectual property development

We Are Looking For

Must Have

  • B.Sc or M.Sc Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.

  • At least 5 years of experience in electronics development within embedded systems in an industrial environment

  • Strong experience in hardware design, electronic circuits and circuit diagrams

  • Experience with simulation tools

  • Hands-on experience with prototype testing and validation in a laboratory environment

  • Ability to independently drive hardware development activities

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken

Meritorious

  • Experience working with voltage levels up to approximately 1 kV

  • Knowledge of EMC-compatible hardware design

  • Experience developing electronics for industrial products

  • Swedish language skills
