Field Specialist I – Fishing Services

Job Overview

The Field Specialist I – Fishing Services ISDT performs field operations for fishing and downhole services using standard techniques, procedures, and established criteria. The role supports job planning, equipment preparation, mobilization, execution, maintenance, and reporting under appropriate supervision. The position works closely with field teams and clients to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality services while maintaining Weatherford HSE, quality, and operational standards.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in daily operations meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and safety activities.  
• Plan and prepare tools and equipment for fishing and ISDT service jobs. 
• Mobilize equipment, personnel, and required materials to the well site. 
• Operate, test, maintain, and prepare fishing and downhole service tools according to procedures and competency level. 
• Execute assigned field operations safely and efficiently under supervision. 
• Monitor and analyze operational data and report any issues or abnormal conditions. 
• Maintain accurate job documentation, including job reports, WPTS entries, service tickets, logs, observation cards, and other required records. 
• Ensure equipment, work areas, and facilities are maintained in safe and presentable condition. 
• Manage wellsite inventory and supplies required for successful job execution. 
• Support troubleshooting and follow up on equipment failures with the R&M team. 
• Participate in equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis activities when required. 
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients and support superior service quality. 
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, field personnel, clients, and internal stakeholders. 
• Remain available on a 24-hour call basis to respond to operational and customer requirements. 
• Follow all Weatherford policies, procedures, Management System requirements, and HSE standards. 
• Complete required technical, compliance, and business training and continuously develop technical skills. 
• Perform other duties safely as assigned by the supervisor within the physical requirements of the role. 

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of fishing services and ISDT/downhole operations. 
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics. 
• Basic mathematics, physics, and chemistry. 
• Basic computer skills. 
• Ability to operate and respond effectively to tools and machinery. 
• Ability to understand tool assembly, repair, maintenance, and modification requirements. 
• Critical thinking, active listening, and basic problem-solving skills. 
• Good reading, writing, communication, and documentation skills. 
• Good judgment and decision-making within established procedures. 
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks. 
• Basic quality-control awareness and attention to service quality.

• Physically capable of performing field and wellsite duties. 
• Strong commitment to HSE, safety procedures, and environmental protection. 

Qualifications:

• 0–1 year of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. 
• High School Diploma required. 
• Technical Certificate/Diploma from an accredited technical or vocational school is preferred. 
• Basic technical knowledge relevant to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or downhole equipment is preferred. 
• Ability and willingness to work in field/wellsite environments and respond to operational requirements.
