About this role
The Accountant is responsible for managing and supporting accounting, accounts payable, general ledger, treasury, cash flow, and financial reporting activities for Weatherford’s Indonesia operations.
The role will work closely with the WSC (Weatherford Shared Services/Center) team and local stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions, account reconciliations, vendor and employee payments, and compliance with Indonesian statutory and corporate requirements.
The position combines transactional accounting and financial reporting responsibilities, including preparation and review of journals, account reconciliations, AP and GL activities, treasury management, and cash-flow monitoring.
The Accountant will also support management with accurate financial information for business decision-making while ensuring compliance with Weatherford policies, internal controls, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Accounting & General Ledger
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for Weatherford Indonesia.
- Prepare and process journal entries and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the General Ledger.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Review accounting transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions and audits.
- Coordinate with the WSC team on accounting activities, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
- Review accounting reconciliations prepared by the WSC team when required.
Accounts Payable & Payments
- Manage Accounts Payable activities for Indonesia operations.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, supporting documentation, and account queries.
- Ensure vendor invoices are properly reviewed, recorded, approved, and processed for payment.
- Coordinate payment processing for approximately 100 vendors and designated employee payments.
- Ensure payments are made accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Monitor outstanding invoices, payment due dates, and AP aging.
- Resolve payment discrepancies and coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors as necessary.
Treasury & Cash Flow
- Monitor and manage local cash flow requirements for Indonesia operations.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts and provide visibility of expected receipts and payments.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure sufficient funds are available for vendor and employee payments.
- Support treasury activities and bank-related accounting requirements.
- Monitor bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
- Ensure cash management activities comply with corporate policies and applicable Indonesian banking and regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance with Central Bank of Indonesia requirements and other applicable financial regulations.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management and corporate reporting purposes.
- Analyze financial information and operating results to identify trends, variances, and areas requiring attention.
- Provide financial and operating information to support business and management decisions.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and monitoring of actual performance against budget.
- Conduct research and analysis of financial data and accounting transactions.
- Support US GAAP reporting requirements and ensure appropriate accounting treatment where applicable.
- Support for Statutory Audit and coordinate with WSC Audit Team to make sure the completion audit by the deadline
- Ensure all corporate reporting requirements are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
Compliance, Controls & Audit
- Ensure accounting activities comply with Weatherford policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable Indonesian laws and regulations.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for financial transactions.
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance, ethics, confidentiality, and financial integrity.
- Ensure compliance with Weatherford’s Security, Compliance, HSE, Quality, and Management System requirements.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with the WSC team to coordinate transactional accounting and reporting activities.
- Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, management, vendors, banks, and other external parties as required.
- Coordinate with employees and operational teams regarding payment, accounting, and financial matters.
- Communicate financial issues, risks, discrepancies, and deadlines clearly and proactively.
- Work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), account reconciliation, and treasury activities.
- Good understanding of cash-flow management and financial controls.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.

- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with the WSC team and other stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
Preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and financial modeling.
- Experience with US GAAP.
- Experience with JD Edwards and/or Oracle ERP/accounting systems.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is an advantage.
- Experience with oil & gas accounting processes and requirements.
- Experience working with Shared Services or centralized accounting teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience covering a combination of AP, GL, reconciliation, financial reporting, and treasury/cash management.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Previous experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Experience with a Big Four accounting firm or a large multinational organization.
- Experience working with US GAAP.
- Experience with JD Edwards or Oracle ERP.
- CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
