Job Summary
The Crib Attendant is responsible for managing, issuing, receiving, and maintaining tools, equipment, and production supplies within the tool crib to support manufacturing and maintenance operations. This role ensures accurate inventory control, tool availability, and compliance with Vertiv safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue tools, equipment, and consumable materials to production and maintenance personnel.
- Receive, inspect, and restock tools and materials returned to the crib.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages.
- Organize and maintain the tool crib in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Track tool calibration status and coordinate calibration or repairs as required.
- Identify damaged or missing tools and report discrepancies to supervision.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- Follow all Vertiv safety policies, quality standards, and procedures.
- Assist with cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories.
- Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and procurement teams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or tool crib environment preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read part numbers, tool specifications, and work orders.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and warehouse setting.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial materials.
- PPE required as applicable.
