KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering Leadership & Design Ownership

  • Lead the detailed engineering and design development of complex Infrastructure Solutions projects.
  • Own the technical coordination and engineering execution of assigned customer projects from solution handover through engineering release.
  • Translate approved solution architectures, customer requirements and conceptual designs into detailed and executable engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, structural and controls engineering.
  • Ensure engineering designs are technically sound, complete, manufacturable, installable and aligned with project requirements.
  • Lead engineering design reviews and ensure appropriate technical decisions are made throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Identify technical risks, design gaps and integration issues early and drive appropriate resolution.
  • Ensure consistency and technical alignment across all engineering deliverables.

Detailed Engineering & Design Development

  • Lead and coordinate the development of engineering deliverables including:
  • General arrangement and equipment layout drawings.
  • Site and system layouts.
  • Mechanical and thermal infrastructure designs.
  • Electrical system designs and power distribution concepts.
  • Electrical single-line diagrams.
  • Equipment integration and interface drawings.
  • Structural and support requirements.
  • Cable routing and containment concepts.
  • Equipment sizing and system dimensioning.
  • Bills of materials.
  • Technical specifications.
  • Design calculations and engineering documentation.
  • Installation and interface requirements.
  • Customer-specific design documentation.
  • Ensure that engineering outputs accurately reflect:
  • Customer requirements.
  • Approved solution architecture.
  • Applicable engineering standards and codes.
  • Manufacturing capabilities.
  • Installation and site constraints.
  • Serviceability and maintainability requirements.
  • Project schedule and commercial requirements.

Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Coordination

  • Coordinate engineering activities across Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Controls and other relevant engineering teams.
  • Ensure effective integration of company products and third-party equipment into the overall solution.
  • Manage technical interfaces between multiple systems, suppliers and engineering disciplines.
  • Resolve design conflicts and technical dependencies between systems.
  • Work closely with Solutions Architects to clarify technical intent and maintain alignment with the original customer solution.
  • Engage Product Engineering teams when product modifications, customization or new engineering development is required.
  • Coordinate with external engineering consultants and suppliers where required.

Design Review, Quality & Compliance

  • Lead technical design reviews at appropriate stages of project development.
  • Review and approve engineering documentation and drawings within delegated authority.
  • Ensure design outputs meet required quality standards before release.
  • Verify compliance with applicable local regulations, engineering standards and customer specifications.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Installation (DFI) and Design for Serviceability principles.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize designs and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Capture lessons learned and incorporate improvements into future designs and engineering standards.

Customer & Project Support

  • Provide technical support during customer design reviews and engineering discussions.
  • Participate in customer meetings when detailed engineering expertise is required.
  • Support clarification of technical requirements and resolution of engineering-related customer queries.
  • Work closely with Project Management to ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with project schedules and milestones.
  • Support technical issue resolution during manufacturing, installation, commissioning and project execution.
  • Provide engineering support for design changes and variations during the project lifecycle.

Engineering Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Drive continuous improvement in design engineering processes, tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and improve engineering standards, design guidelines and reusable solution modules.
  • Identify opportunities for standardization and modularization of Infrastructure Solutions.
  • Support the development of engineering templates, design libraries and standard engineering documentation.
  • Improve engineering quality, cycle time and first-time-right design performance.
  • Promote effective use of engineering tools and digital design platforms.

Technical Leadership & People Development

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Design Engineers and other engineering team members.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent within the Infrastructure Solutions organization.
  • Support capability development across relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex engineering challenges.
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture across functions and geographies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Typically 10–15+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center infrastructure, mission-critical infrastructure, industrial systems or integrated engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the engineering and detailed design of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong understanding of integrated Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience working with complex engineered-to-order or customized solutions.
  • Experience in design engineering for data centers, modular infrastructure, mission-critical facilities or similar environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing, Project Management, Supply Chain and Product Engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in data center infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with modular or prefabricated infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with integrated power and thermal infrastructure.
  • Experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering coordination.
  • Experience working with data center OEMs, EPC organizations, engineering consultancies or mission-critical infrastructure providers.
  • Experience with CAD and engineering design tools.
  • Experience with global engineering teams and international projects.
  • Experience leading engineering teams or technical workstreams.
