About This Role 

Are you an experienced veterinary anesthesia professional looking to grow your skills in a specialized surgical research environment? As a Veterinary Anesthesia Technician I, you'll play a key role in supporting preclinical surgical studies by providing safe, high-quality anesthesia care from induction through recovery.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced anesthesia techniques, collaborate with experienced veterinary and surgical teams, and contribute to the development of innovative medical technologies.

 

What You’ll Do  

  • Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
  • Calculate and administer anesthetic agents, CRIs, and protocol-specific medications.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond appropriately to changing conditions.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain anesthesia and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Document treatments, observations, and anesthesia records accurately.
  • Support post-operative recovery and pain management.
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare, safety, and regulatory requirements.

 

Required Qualifications  

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of veterinary anesthesia experience.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthetic medications, ventilators, monitoring equipment, and anesthesia protocols.
  • Proficiency with medical math and CRI calculations.
  • Ability to think critically and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Surgical Research Anesthesia Certification or RLAT certification.

Location  

  • This is a fully onsite position in Atlanta, GA.
