In 2021, UNT introduced Eagle Landing, the university’s first standalone dining hall, inspired by urban food halls and featuring seven distinct restaurant concepts—all available for a single Meal Plan swipe.

Horton Award and the Vegan Recipe Award from the National Association of College and University Food Services. Position Overview

The UNT Dining Associate at Clark Bakery plays an essential role in supporting safe, efficient, and consistent dining operations within UNT Dining Services. This position assists with daily kitchen production, meal service, sanitation, and general dining area operations to help ensure quality service for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

The Dining Associate works collaboratively with cooks, production staff, supervisors, and other dining team members to support timely meal preparation and service while following established food safety, sanitation, and operational standards. This role may provide support across various service areas as needed, helping maintain adequate staffing and smooth operations during meal periods.

The Dining Associate contributes to a welcoming and positive dining environment by maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked work and service areas, assisting with food preparation and service, and responding to operational needs in a professional and timely manner. The position is an important part of the Clark Bakery team and helps ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable dining experience for the UNT community.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently, with attention to detail; basic knowledge of food service, sanitation, and workplace safety practices, or the ability to learn and apply these practices promptly; ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods throughout a scheduled work shift; demonstrated reliability, dependability, and punctuality; and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a passion for providing
exceptional service.

Job Duties

• Assist in preparation of high-quality baked good items each meal service, including daily prepared items. Knowledge of the proper care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils, understands health hazards related to food preparation and service, and is aware of necessary precautionary measures, including safety and security protocols relevant to the work performed. Follows standardized processes to minimize turnaround time and ensure a consistent supply of cleaned and sanitized dishes, pots and pans. Assists with additional bakery duties as assigned.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
