Role Overview
The Flight Operations Analytics & Safety Insights team is responsible for delivering timely, actionable insights that support operational excellence across Flight Operations. This role combines safety reporting, operational analytics, business intelligence, and process improvement to help stakeholders make informed decisions that improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
The role partners closely with Flight Operations leaders, Safety teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to transform operational and safety data into meaningful insights, reporting solutions, and business recommendations.
This role is foundational to the Safety Management System (SMS) lifecycle, helping initiate the first critical steps of safety reporting, hazard identification, and analysis that enable timely risk management and support the continued safety of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and analyze safety reports submitted by pilots, ensuring accurate categorization, tracking, and routing to appropriate stakeholders
- Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards to support Flight Operations and Safety leadership
- Analyze operational, safety, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular updates on progress toward division goals
- Conduct root cause analysis and support investigations related to operational and safety initiatives
- Translate complex safety and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations that support hazard identification, risk assessment, and informed safety decision-making by business partners and leadership teams
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and develop reporting and analytics solutions
- Leverage tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, and other analytics platforms to extract, transform, analyze, and visualize data
- Support strategic initiatives through data analysis, forecasting, scenario modeling, and business impact assessments
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual reporting and operational processes
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established reporting standards
- Support adoption of advanced analytics, AI-enabled solutions, and data-driven decision-making practices across Flight Operation

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Aviation Management, or a related field
Experience
- Experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data analysis, or a related discipline
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Ability to interpret data and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to use AI, machine learning, and Generative AI solutions
- Experience using cloud-based analytics platforms and modern business intelligence tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aviation, transportation, operations, safety, or related industries
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other analytical programming languages
- Experience with workflow automation, process improvement, or operational efficiency initiatives
- Familiarity with aviation operations, safety reporting systems, and operational performance metrics
- Experience developing predictive models, forecasting solutions, and advanced analytical methods
