Tank Repair Coordinator

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Tank Repair Coordinator I will oversee field project schedule, cost control, quality, safety and environmental objectives and project documentation as directed by the PM. The Tank Repair Coordinator I duties and responsibilities require that they be both knowledgeable and experienced in all phases of tank construction and inspection requirements.

This role is located throughout the Northern California region.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure Engineering plans and specifications are followed. 
2. Ensure company standards and procedures are followed. 
3. Interpret drawings and relay to Contractor as needed. 
4. Track material shipments and deliveries. Verify condition of material and equipment before accepting and note any discrepancies. 
5. Act as liaison between Field Operations and Project Manager. Report information timely to the PM. 
6. Keep the PM aware of any daily problems or anticipated problems that may impact the project schedule. 
7. Complete work plan prior to starting job in coordination with PM and review with Operations and contractor prior to starting work. 
8. Coordinate necessary quality control tests and report results to PM. 
9. Advise and make recommendations to Project Manager of Contractor’s workmanship, material substitutions and conformance with engineering plans and specifications. 
10. Perform visual inspection of completed work. 
11. Document all activities on weekly report and send to Manager of Engineering (Tank Integrity) and PM. 
12. Report to be updated weekly with all pertinent information (i.e. location, leg setting, transfer, cleaning, API repairs, waste tracking, etc.) along with pictures and send in Excel format. 
13. Coordinate scheduling of vacuum trucks and equipment for tank and piping drain up. 
14. Coordinate removal of wastes from site with EHS representatives. Ensure waste manifest is completed accurately with all tank information. 
15. Coordinate hydrostatic testing including water testing and discharge/removal. 
16. Verify contractor compliance with confined space safety program. 
17. Verify contractor compliance with OQ program if DOT jurisdictional. 
18. Confirm completion of the confined space reclassification checklist. 
19. Steward, document and actively participate in daily tailgate, weekly contractor safety meetings and random safety assessments. 
20. Complete daily Safety Permit in coordination with local Operations. 
21. Report all contractor incidents immediately to the PM in accordance with the reporting procedures outlined within procedures. 
22. Report contractor progress on lump sum and unit cost basis contracts. 
23. Track and report daily contractor cost on T&M contracts (approve labor, equipment and material timesheets). 
24. Maintain summary for all extra work (i.e. change orders) approved by PM. 
25. Ensure the completion and accuracy of all reports and forms as required by the client. 
26. Set up the Project Closure file (i.e. inspector package, as-built, job book) at the beginning of the project and continuously ensure that all documentation required is accumulated, checked for accuracy and included in the file. Project Closure file must be submitted to PM no later than 2 weeks after job completion. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must be able to read, understand and interpret drawings and specifications. 
• Proficient with standard computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, digital photographs). 
• Must be in good physical shape, able to climb tank stairs, walk over uneven surfaces at field facilities, and gain access through 20” – 36” manways to access tank interior and topside of floating roof. 
• Must have reliable transportation, cell phone, computer and printer. 
• Must be willing and able to work outside in plant environment in all types of climatic conditions. 
• Ability to work extended hours, holidays and/or weekends as required. 
• Knowledgeable of Business Unit procedures and able to apply them to field conditions. 
• Knowledgeable oF Engineering Standards and able to apply them to field conditions. 
• Knowledgeable of Contractor Environmental/Safety Manual and apply it to field conditions. 
• Must have excellent communication skills to communicate with Operations, contractors, EHS and report directly to the Project Manager. 
• Must coordinate onsite activities with minimum oversight. 
• Must have working knowledge of API 650 and API 653 standards. Must have working knowledge of NDE methods including but not limited to MT/PT, vacuum box, diesel testing, hydro testing, radiography, etc. 
• Must be current on all required core training. 
• Obtain and maintain TWIC card. 
• Must attend annual training seminars. 

PAY SCALE

$30-35/hour depending on experience. Additional allowances include Equipment Pay, Business-Related Mileage, and Per Diem when applicable.
