Materials Manager - JIT

At Milwaukee Tool, our People and Culture are the foundation of our success. As the Manager JIT, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring material availability, supplier readiness, and successful execution of production and new product launch requirements.

This role will drive Just-in-Time (JIT) planning strategies, supplier capacity planning, risk mitigation, and cross-functional program execution while developing a high-performing team focused on operational excellence.

This Manager will serve as a key partner to Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and supply chain capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of planning and supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and results-driven execution.
• Establish performance expectations and support employee development through coaching, feedback, performance management, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
• Develop and execute JIT planning strategies that support production requirements, inventory objectives, and business growth.
• Ensure supplier’s readiness, material availability, and capacity planning to support current and future demand requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks that may impact production schedules, customer commitments, or product launches.
• Lead escalation management and problem resolution activities related to material shortages, delivery constraints, and supply disruptions.
• Drive rapid response actions and recovery plans to support changing business conditions and production plan fluctuations.
• Lead cross-functional planning and execution activities to support successful product launches, business initiatives, and operational readiness.
• Establish project milestones, monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful execution and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate long lead-time materials, supplier readiness, tooling requirements, risk-buy activities, and capacity planning efforts.
• Facilitate regular project reviews and communicate status, risks, mitigation plans, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Drive optimization of JIT processes, planning systems, and operational workflows to improve efficiency, visibility, and execution.
• Lead supplier expansion and JIT deployment initiatives to support scalability and operational growth.
• Utilize data, KPIs, and analytics to identify opportunities, drive continuous improvement, and achieve business objectives.

• Achievement of key performance metrics related to supplier performance, delivery reliability, material readiness, and launch execution.

Tools you need to bring with you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials Planning, Program Management, Manufacturing Operations, Customer Service, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and driving operational improvements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
