Join us as a Financial Analyst / Inventory Accountant

Reporting to the SCL Finance Manager, the SCL Finance Analyst will provide financial support to the Supply Chain & Logistics function, supporting financial control, reporting, analysis and day-to-day finance activities.

This role will work closely with Supply Chain & Logistics, warehouse, Product Management, Finance and external suppliers to ensure transactions, inventory, costs and provisions are accurately managed and reported. The role will also support month-end activities, order management, in-transit transactions and the resolution of financial and stock discrepancies.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, analytical capability and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.

What else it involves:

  • Support the business with Product Management and Supply Chain & Logistics activities, ensuring appropriate financial controls and processes are maintained.
  • Provide finance support for logistics transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Support order management activities, including escalating issues to the Oracle support team where required and following through to resolution.
  • Track and monitor in-transit transactions, investigating and resolving stock and transaction discrepancies.
  • Support month-end accounting, analysis and reporting for logistics expenses and inventory.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain & Logistics and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting for costs, stock and provisions.
  • Liaise with key suppliers to ensure financial and operational information is accurate, complete and provided to the required standard.
  • Prepare and deliver regular and ad-hoc financial reports and analysis in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure financial transactions and reporting are completed in line with agreed processes, controls and policies.
  • Identify and escalate financial, process or control issues where appropriate.
  • Support wider Finance and business activities as required by the SCL Finance Manager.
  • Support company-wide and cross-functional projects as required.

The skills we are looking for:

  • Relevant finance, accounting or business qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Part-qualified or finalist in ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA.
  • Experience in financial and management accounting, reporting and financial controls.
  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working within a Supply Chain & Logistics environment is desirable.
  • Experience using Oracle or a similar ERP system is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
