Our Team

From take-off to landing, Thales offers the most complete range of solutions to provide dynamic Air Traffic Services to support today's growing domestic and international travel requirements. Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (OneSKY) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence.

This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. OneSKY will transform Australia’s sky and we are proud to be partners in its delivery.

Your role
As a Software Engineering Instructor, you will play a key role in delivering and enhancing customer training to support the effective use of CMATS in testing environments.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering engaging and interactive training programs at our in-house facility, including course materials, learning plans, and assessments
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality training resources, such as presentations, instructor guides, student materials, and hands-on exercises
  • Assisting with the setup and operation of training equipment and simulators to ensure practical, effective learning experiences
  • Continuously reviewing, testing, and refining training materials and assessments to maintain accuracy and relevance

Your experience

  • A Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience in delivering in-person training, preferably in software engineering
  • Experience delivering software engineering training
  • Prior experience in configuring software systems
  • A background in configuring software systems and troubleshooting/resolving technical issues
  • Familiarity with software testing and hands-on training delivery

A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
