Job Mission
The Ghana Partnership Lead will build and manage the partnerships and coalition underpinning Terraformation’s Ghana Country Platform for Forest Restoration.
Working closely with the Forestry Commission and Terraformation’s technical experts, the role will execute three priority workstreams supporting Ghana’s 2040 Forest Landscape Restoration Strategy:

Across these workstreams, the Partnership Lead will coordinate assessments, stakeholder engagement, solution design, and implementation. This includes supporting the delivery of targeted training, tools, technology, and technical assistance to strengthen Ghana’s restoration capacity and infrastructure.
The role will also coordinate the execution of a National Seed to Forest Accelerator in Ghana. Based on a participatory capacity needs assessment, the Partnership Lead will work with Ghanaian stakeholders and Terraformation’s technical teams to design and deliver targeted training, tools, and ongoing support that strengthen local organizations’ technical, operational, financial, and monitoring capabilities.
Serving as a trusted bridge between Ghanaian partners and Terraformation’s internal teams, the Ghana Partnership Lead will help remove systemic barriers to restoration and create the enabling conditions for a sustained pipeline of high-integrity, locally led restoration projects.

Lead the stakeholder engagement for the Ghana Country Platform, in close partnership with the Terraformation’s Ghana Country Director and the Forestry Commission.

Map and engage priority stakeholders across government, civil society, communities, research institutions, funders, and the private sector, building on existing coalitions and initiatives.

Establish and coordinate the Platform’s governance, priorities, work plan, partner commitments, and decision-making processes.

Coordinate the execution of the Platform’s three priority workstreams with Forestry Commission counterparts and Terraformation’s technical experts:

Seed Supply Capacity Enhancement: Coordinate a participatory assessment of Ghana’s seed-to-forest supply chain and coordinate targeted support to strengthen seed production, storage, nurseries, technical capabilities, and sustainable business models.

Governance, Finance & Community of Practice: Coordinate a study of financial flows and funding gaps for forest landscape restoration, facilitate a community of practice and peer-to-peer learning, and support coordinated action around the 2040 Strategy.

Strengthening Restoration Monitoring: Coordinate the development and adoption of national monitoring systems, protocols, and data-sharing mechanisms for restoration activities and outcomes.

Lead a participatory capacity needs assessment and coordinate the delivery of the Seed to Forest Accelerator, including targeted training and technical assistance for Ghanaian restoration actors.

Ensure that local organizations, communities, women, and youth participate meaningfully in Platform planning and decision-making.

Coordinate the execution of foundation grants supporting the establishment of the Ghana Country Platform, ensuring alignment across activities, budgets, deliverables, timelines, compliance requirements, and donor reporting.

Represent Terraformation in relevant national forums and report regularly on partnerships, commitments, risks, progress, and decisions required.

Travel within Ghana up to 25%

10+ years of experience in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, coalition-building, public policy, international development, conservation, climate, forestry, or a related field.

Demonstrated success building trusted relationships with senior government officials, NGOs, community organizations, research institutions, donors, and private-sector partners.

Strong understanding of Ghana’s institutional, political, and socioeconomic context.

Experience designing or facilitating multi-stakeholder platforms, sector coalitions, or public-private partnerships.

Ability to translate diverse interests into shared priorities, practical commitments, and coordinated action.

Strong facilitation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and diplomatic skills.

Experience engaging communities and local organizations through inclusive and participatory approaches.

Ability to navigate ambiguity, institutional complexity, and competing stakeholder interests with sound judgment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent Terraformation credibly with senior external stakeholders.

Strong project-management skills, with the ability to track commitments, risks, dependencies, and results.

Fluency in English. Proficiency in relevant Ghanaian languages is strongly preferred.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Ghana.
