The Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC) serves as the central hub for protecting Staples' people, facilities, assets, and business operations. Our team monitors and responds to security events across North America, supports crisis management and business continuity efforts, and partners with leaders throughout the organization to help ensure a safe, secure, and resilient workplace.
The Enterprise Security Operations Center Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Enterprise Security Operations Center. In this role, you will supervise a team of security professionals, oversee physical security technologies and processes, and serve as an escalation point for complex security incidents and emergency situations.
You will help execute operational plans, maintain compliance with security standards, support executive protection and crisis management initiatives, and identify opportunities to continuously improve Staples’ security capabilities. What you’ll be doing:
- Supervise daily Enterprise Security Operations Center activities, including continuous monitoring, incident detection, threat assessment, and timely response to security events.
- Lead the investigation, escalation, resolution, and documentation of physical security incidents, access control issues, workplace safety concerns, and emergency situations.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of security professionals while maintaining appropriate staffing coverage for a 24/7 operation.
- Manage and optimize physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, mass notification, and related security technologies.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce security procedures, response protocols, compliance standards, and operational best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation strategies to reduce enterprise security risk.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, law enforcement, emergency responders, security vendors, and other external partners during incidents and investigations.
- Support executive protection, crisis management, emergency preparedness, business continuity, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
- Monitor operational performance, conduct post-incident reviews, and recommend process and technology improvements.
- Prepare and deliver incident reports, executive briefings, intelligence summaries, and operational recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and standardize security operations and procedures.
- Support the implementation of new security technologies, programs, and organizational change initiatives.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, Information Security, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in security operations, asset protection, law enforcement, military security, emergency management, intelligence operations, or a related field.
- 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, team lead, or shift management experience.
- Experience managing security incidents, emergency situations, investigations, or crisis events.
- Experience using physical security technologies, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and alarm monitoring platforms.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, security reviews, or operational audits.
- Knowledge of physical security principles, incident response procedures, emergency preparedness, and threat mitigation practices.
- Experience developing, implementing, or enforcing security policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and security management platforms.
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed to support a 24/7 operation.
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Information Security, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, LPC, CISSP, or comparable industry credentials.
- Experience supervising three or more professional-level associates.
- Experience supporting executive protection programs.
- Experience working within a Security Operations Center or Enterprise Security Operations Center.
- Experience using threat intelligence and OSINT platforms such as Ontic, Flashpoint, or similar solutions.
- Experience administering mass notification systems such as Everbridge.
- Experience leading crisis management exercises, emergency preparedness programs, or large-scale incident response activities.
- Experience implementing security technology upgrades, integrations, or process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of business continuity planning, enterprise risk management, and crisis management practices.
- Experience working within a complex, multi-site, or global operating environment.
- Project management experience leading security-related initiatives from planning through implementation.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
