About this role

Overview

Sprout is a global IT hardware retirement provider for hyperscaler and enterprise clients. We leverage a nationwide footprint (and international partner network) combined with proprietary software to enable efficient end-to-end IT asset disposition with a focus on data-bearing devices from the client to the cloud. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, NC with additional operations near Sacramento, Dallas, and Boston. Sprout provides software and services to clients in the form of our IT Asset Disposition, Certified Destruction, and Responsible Recycling solutions.

Since our founding as an electronic waste startup from a Duke University dorm room in 2014, we have been expanding at an average rate of >66% each year. By adhering to our 3 values (One Sprout, Deliver Excellence, and Integrity Matters), we are proud of our culture to move at #SproutSpeed to become the emerging leader in our industry. Responsibilities

Material Handling — Serialized Assets

  • Direct put-away of serialized assets to assigned locations following receiving and serialization handoff, ensuring system location matches physical location before the unit is released from staging.
  • Ensure picks against serialized assets are executed to the correct serial number, not to a like model or configuration.
  • Maintain 100% location accuracy standard for serialized inventory; any unit that cannot be located is escalated to the Facility Manager same-shift.
  • Enforce chain-of-custody handling requirements for all data-bearing devices throughout put-away, storage, and pick.

Material Handling — Bulk and Commodity Material

  • Direct put-away and picking of non-serialized material, including commodity streams, feedstock, packaging, consumables, and palletized bulk.
  • Maintain accurate unit-of-measure, weight, and container-level records for bulk material at the location level.
  • Ensure segregation of commodity streams is maintained at all times to prevent cross-contamination of material grades.

Location and Warehouse Integrity

  • Maintain the facility location scheme: labeling, legibility, aisle and bin discipline, and travel path clearance.
  • Ensure staging areas are worked down daily and no material is held in unassigned or undocumented locations.
  • Identify and escalate capacity constraints, layout inefficiencies, and slotting opportunities to the Facility Manager.

Cycle Count Program

  • Execute the cycle count schedule to the assigned cadence and coverage plan.
  • Perform recounts and research on identified discrepancies prior to escalation.
  • Submit all variances to the Facility Manager for approval and posting. The Supervisor does not approve or post inventory adjustments to their own count results.
  • Maintain count documentation and audit trail sufficient to support internal and third-party audit.
  • Identify root cause on recurring variance by location, material type, or process step, and recommend corrective action.

Supervision

  • Direct, schedule, and coordinate assigned warehouse personnel against daily workload and priority.
  • Cross-train assigned personnel across put-away, pick, and count functions to maintain coverage.
  • Conduct daily task assignment and shift handoff communication.
  • Support performance management, coaching, and corrective action in partnership with the Facility Manager and HR.

Safety and Environmental

  • Enforce all facility safety requirements, including PPE compliance, material handling equipment operation, load stability, rack and stacking limits, and aisle egress.
  • Verify equipment operator certification is current for all assigned personnel operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Complete and escalate incident and near-miss reporting per Sprout procedure.
  • Support facility compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements applicable to material storage and handling.

Compliance

  • Execute all duties in conformance with Sprout's QEHSMS and applicable R2v3 requirements.
  • Maintain documented traceability of material movement sufficient to support downstream disposition and reporting obligations.
  • Ensure Work Instructions applicable to warehouse operations are followed as written, and escalate any process that cannot be executed as documented.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and certification body audits as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years warehouse or distribution experience, including 1+ year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience with WMS or ERP-based inventory transactions.
  • Working knowledge of cycle counting methodology and inventory variance research.
  • Powered industrial truck certification, or ability to certify within [30] days of hire.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow documented work instructions.

Preferred

  • Experience in ITAD, electronics recycling, reverse logistics, or serialized asset environments.
  • Familiarity with R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish [site-dependent].

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs; team lift above 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for the duration of an assigned shift.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks and material handling equipment.
  • Work in a warehouse environment subject to seasonal temperature variation and equipment noise.
