About this role

Under the guidance and supervision of a supervisor and/or mentor: determine working interests and burdens associated with interests based on title analysis; create and maintain revenue decks; maintain joint interest billing decks; ensure the alignment of interests in Well Master, JVA and PRA; support owner relations inquiries for area of responsibility; analyze oil and gas leases to determine the impact specific provisions will have on royalty payments and corresponding Division Order obligations; recognize and develop solutions for non-routine ownership issues and payments.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries from other departments, other companies and from interest owners
  • Create and maintain revenue decks under the direct supervision of supervisor and/or mentor
  • Maintain JIB decks
  • Ensure alignment of Company interest between systems of record (Well Master/JVA/PRA)
  • Process pay code changes and ownership transfers under limited guidance/supervision of mentor or higher-level analysts
  • Support owner relations inquiries for area of responsibility and act as DO owner relations backup when necessary
  • Ensure thorough and accurate compliance with contract terms and obligations
  • Mentor Land Administration Techs and lower level Division Order Analysts
  • Continually research, interpret and deliver relevant and necessary information to perform operations
  • Establish and cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with SM facilities
  • Other duties as assigned

 Computer/Software Applications

  • Has a solid knowledge of own discipline and a broader knowledge of other industry disciplines. 
  • Has completed all needed training/courses/workshops/seminars required in level I and is now applying the concepts and skills on the job. Additional training is still needed.

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of oil and gas lease forms, payout scenarios, the escheat process. 
  • Solid understanding of title, types of ownership, conveyance instruments, suspended funds, statutory regulations/requirements as they relate to revenue and joint interest billing decks.

Typical Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Petroleum Management or Business preferred.

Typical Experience: Minimum of 2 years related experience.
