Skillforce is hiring Combilift Operators for ongoing project work in Chesapeake, Virginia. As a Combilift Operator, you will be responsible for transporting, staging, and positioning pipe and materials for installation crews inside an underground tunnel work zone. Work Environment
This is an underground infrastructure project with a controlled-access work area. Employees are transported to the work zone at the beginning of the shift and remain there until the crew returns at the end of the workday. Access to outside amenities is limited during the shift, employees should arrive prepared with their own meals, drinks, and other daily necessities.
Combilift Operator Pay:
- $35.00 to $40.00 per hour based on your experience level.
- W-2 employment with weekly pay by direct deposit.
Combilift Operator Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, four 10 hour days.
- Daily start time is 6 AM at the designated staging point.
- Fridays are off on the standard schedule, and occasional Friday overtime is possible but not guaranteed.
- Transportation from the staging point into the tunnel work zone is provided.
Combilift Operator Responsibilities:
- You will operate multi-directional Combilift equipment to transport, stage, and position pipe and other materials for installation crews.
- You will maneuver loads safely in a confined work area with limited clearance and limited turning room.
- You will work inside a controlled-access underground work zone, entering with the crew at the start of the shift and leaving when the crew returns at the end of the day.
- You will assist the crew with general project needs when equipment operation is not required.
- You will complete daily equipment checks and report any mechanical issue before you operate.
Combilift Operator Qualifications:
- You have 5 or more years of experience operating Combilift or similar multi-directional forklift equipment.
- You hold a current Combilift operator certification and can provide it for verification.
- You are comfortable working underground in an enclosed work zone for a full shift, and you can bring your own meals and drinks because there are no food services near the work zone.
- You have standard PPE including a chin strap hard hat, Level 3 cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses.
- You can pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, and you are authorized to work in the U.S.
