Applied Intelligence

Brief Overview

Applied Analytics & AI – Applied Intelligence team sits within Exchange Operation. Applied Analytics & AI team is responsible for internal data foundation for business users’ reporting and analysis in Global Markets Division. Analytics data is crucial to support business with data-driven insights and leverage data to inform business decisions.

This is a data analytics and engineering role in Applied Analytics & AI. The selected intern will work on migrating business data mart to Google Cloud and play a part in re-designing our analytics data. You will be exposed to full suite of data generated by trading of securities and derivatives markets available on SGX and get involved in enhancing analytics offered in the data mart. This is a unique opportunity to work hands‑on with modern cloud technologies, shape the foundation of our future data architecture, and see the direct impact of your contributions. By the end of the internship, you would have gained exposure to the full analytics stack, spanning data ingestion, engineering, modelling and dashboarding, while developing a strong understanding of SGX's markets and products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and test ETL pipelines in GCP Dataform (SQL) and Cloud Run functions (Python)
• Creating Looker dashboards in GCP
• Assist with data migration from on-prem databases to GCP
• Ensure data quality and accuracy
• Support existing BAU processes in python
• Promote good data analytics practices - robust documentation and knowledge sharing
• Adhoc market data research

Knowledge and Skills requirements:

• Data engineering and analytics skills in Python
• Proficiency in SQL 
• Knowledge of data structure and database
• Understanding of financial markets is preferred
• Experience (or interest) in Google Cloud Platforms preferred
• Experience (or interest) in Looker Dashboards preferred
