Job Description
As an EPM Solution Engineer, you will act as a key technical expert for SGS's Hyperion, Essbase and related EPM applications, driving their development, stability and continuous improvement. You will ensure solutions follow industry best practices for coding, architecture, security and performance while applying your expertise across the software development lifecycle.
You will play an active role in development and enhancement initiatives, ensuring business requirements are understood, challenged where necessary, and translated into scalable, sustainable solutions. You will assess the impact of new requirements and provide technical guidance that balances business needs with long-term system integrity and maintainability.
You will oversee the maintenance and support of EPM applications, including metadata management, calculation scripts, business rules, reports and dashboards. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams and service providers, you will manage requests, support incident resolution and contribute to strategic initiatives such as platform upgrades, ERP transformation projects and the evolution of Oracle EPM solutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee that the software development activity is carried out in accordance with SGS and market standards.
- Executes the validation of the technical designs & oversees the application development activity and ensures that deliverables follow the defined & market coding, architecture and security rules and guidelines.
- Ensuring that development estimates made by partners are reasonable and acceptable.
- Ensure that the development activities in the field of applications development and projects comply with the SGS technical standards and quality.
- Monitor 2nd or 3rd Level Support, working closely with AM Teams, business users, infrastructure team and application outsourcer (Oracle).
- Attend internal and external service meetings to discuss issues and improvement plans.
- Manage and monitor issues closely and ensure their resolution according to applicable escalation procedures.
- Perform regular service quality checks on incident tickets and requests and prepare improvement plans.
- Maintain the access and security configurations, ensuring the right level of control in line with the standards required by system auditors and internal controls.
- Monitor monthly maintenance activities: Maintain metadata, member list, FX Rates, business rules and validation checks.
- Support the year end Rollover activities, and support any other activity related financial closing.
- Oversee technical architecture activities such as patching, backups or application copies, working closely with DBA and infrastructure teams.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure teams, Solution Architects, Delivery managers and Application Outsourcers for any initiative that will require SGS engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Hyperion or related EPM products on any of the following processes:
- Financial Planning and Budgeting.
- Enterprise Data Management & Essbase.
- Financial Consolidation and Closing.
- EPM Technical Architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with EPM development, including business rules, calculation scripts, metadata management and reporting.
- Experience supporting, enhancing and maintaining enterprise EPM applications.
- Oracle EPM Cloud experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with EPM upgrades, migrations or transformation initiatives is desirable.
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITIL) principles.
- Ability to assess the impact of business requirements and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Information
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, depending on program needs. The role operates globally and requires flexibility to collaborate across time zones. The role may lead dedicated and matrixed program resources, product teams, subject-matter experts and external partners.
