A leading hospital in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join its advanced Neonatal and Paediatric team.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to critically ill and premature newborns, working within a multidisciplinary team in a modern tertiary/quaternary healthcare setting. The role involves managing complex neonatal cases and contributing to high standards of clinical care, safety and service development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-level care to premature, critically ill and high-risk newborns.
  • Manage neonatal emergencies and complex medical conditions.
  • Lead the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neonates in the NICU.
  • Manage respiratory distress, sepsis, neonatal infections and other critical conditions.
  • Perform and supervise neonatal procedures within scope of practice.
  • Provide care for extremely premature and low-birth-weight infants.
  • Participate in delivery-room resuscitation and high-risk deliveries.
  • Collaborate with Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Paediatric Surgery, Cardiology and other specialties.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical rounds.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors and medical staff.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
  • Support teaching, training and development of neonatal services.
  • Medical degree with recognised postgraduate qualification in Neonatology/Pediatrics.
  • American Board or Australian Board certification in the relevant specialty.
  • Consultant-level clinical experience in Neonatology.
  • Strong experience in a tertiary/quaternary NICU environment.
  • Experience managing complex neonatal and critical care cases.
  • Eligible for DHA/DoH/MOHAP Consultant licensing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates with experience in advanced NICU services are preferred.
