Within SCOR P&C, SCOR Specialty Insurance (Single Risk) is the central unit dedicated to insuring the business risks faced by large corporate companies. It has been serving its customers for more than 45 years and has maintained a continuous presence in the market by upholding a strong technical culture supported by SCOR’s best-in-class financial strength rating. Business activity is structured around three regions (APAC, EMEA, US) through various lines of business (e.g. Property, Construction, Energy, Casualty/Financial Lines, etc.). Clients in each region are served by specialized underwriters who rely on SCOR's technical expertise and client knowledge.

This internship provides a fulfilling exposure to insurance and reinsurance industry. Through close collaboration with experienced underwriters in the team, as well as colleagues in other cross-functional teams, this internship will provide a good head start in a career of Underwriting. The Intern will also gain valuable insights and experiences of working in multinational corporations like SCOR.
Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist underwriters in evaluating and analysing risks, for both new and renewal accounts of Property and Power
- Compare year-on year changes in risk profile, as well as underwriting terms and conditions
- Perform benchmarking analysis, by occupancies and countries
- Review contract wordings per SCOR Underwriting Guidelines
- Ensure contract details are accurately entered in SCOR Underwriting Platform
- Conduct research on markets, segments or industries for business development potential
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills/Competencies
- Curiosity; strong desire to develop knowledge in (re)insurance industry, particularly in the field of underwriting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in working under pressure and uncertainty
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Fast learner, self-motivated, proactive and committed
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- International minded, ideally from overseas experiences such as exchange semester, OCIP, overseas internship, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Prior internships or working experiences in insurance or underwriting considered a plus, but not required
Required Education
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant disciplines (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, etc.), preferably in the final or penultimate year of study
- Minimum commitment period of 6 months; full time commitment is required
