About the Role:
Saban Onyx is looking for a detail-obsessed Jewelry Quality Control specialist to join our team in the heart of New York, NY. This is your opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring every piece that leaves our hands meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and beauty. Responsibilities:
- Inspect finished and in-process jewelry pieces for defects in craftsmanship, finish, and gemstone setting
- Evaluate metal quality, prong integrity, clasp functionality, and surface polish
- Document and report quality issues, defects, and non-conformances accurately
- Collaborate with production and design teams to resolve quality concerns
- Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications before shipment
- Maintain detailed QC logs and inspection records
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to reduce defect rates
Requirements:
- Prior experience in jewelry quality control, inspection, or production
- Strong knowledge of fine jewelry construction, gemstone setting, and metalworking
- Exceptional attention to detail and visual acuity
- Familiarity with QC documentation and reporting processes
- Ability to use loupes, microscopes, or other inspection tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- GIA certification or equivalent gemological training is a plus
