Pratt and Whitney's Manufacturing Accounting team has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist.

The position will be a hybrid position based out of our East Hartford, Connecticut campus location.

What You Will Do:

The Manufacturing Accounting team is seeking a highly motivated individual for an Accounting Specialist position.

This position is responsible for supporting accounting and financial reporting for P&W’s Manufacturing Operations segment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support subsidiary accounting and financial reporting.

- Manage significant components of monthly/quarterly close.

- Perform advanced analytics (margin analysis, absorption, cost trends, reserve/allowance modeling).

- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and GAAP compliance for owned areas.

- Drive process improvements, implement stronger controls.


- Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.


- Collaborate with a variety of other functional teams including but not limited to Module Center finance, FP&A, Controllers Group, Digital Technologies as needed; ensure accounting compliance upstream.

- Support Manufacturing’s control environment through SOX compliance and control review/testing; support subsidiaries with compliance matters.

- Assist in internal and external audits related to P&W Operations.

- Learn and grow your knowledge around all P&W’s costing methodologies.

- Support the PST/S4 project in designing Operations future cost accounting structure.

Qualifications You Must Have:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required with at least 5+ years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience.

- Proficiency with MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.

- Strong ERP experience (SAP & OneStream preferred).

- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


- Efficient in use of Office software (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); working knowledge of SAP and BW.


- Candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.


- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders.


- Strong data analytics skills with ability to work with individuals and/or team at all levels.


- Desire to learn/incorporate AI in daily work activities to improve team efficiency.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
