Our Client
Our client, an aviation company, seeks to employ a Chief Finance Officer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the organisation's financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, long-term financial planning, forecasting, and performance management activities.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance profitability, improve operational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth.
  • Monitor organisational performance against strategic and financial targets, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives, including debt financing, equity investments, structured finance transactions, and other capital-raising activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and other funding partners.
  • Develop robust financial models, investment memoranda, and investor presentations to support funding initiatives.
  • Evaluate financing alternatives and recommend optimal capital structures to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Negotiate financing arrangements, loan agreements, and investment terms on behalf of the organization.
  • Manage the organisation's capital allocation strategy to maximize returns and maintain financial flexibility.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate, timely, and insightful financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide oversight of treasury operations, including cash flow management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimisation.
  • Establish, strengthen, and monitor financial controls and governance frameworks to safeguard organisational assets.
  • Drive process improvements and the adoption of best practices across the finance function.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks affecting the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations, corporate regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Oversee internal and external audit processes and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls that strengthen financial governance and accountability.
  • Provide financial leadership and analytical support for strategic initiatives, investments, mergers and acquisitions, and expansion opportunities.
  • Conduct financial due diligence and evaluate the commercial viability of new business opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and financial models to support investment decisions and growth initiatives.
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial guidance on key commercial and operational matters.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability-building initiatives within the finance function.
  • Ensure the finance team has the appropriate structure, resources, and competencies to support business objectives.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management or senior leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading fundraising and capital-raising initiatives.
  • Proven track record of securing debt, equity, institutional funding, or strategic investments.
  • Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, infrastructure, financial services, or other capital-intensive industries is an advantage.
