Our Client
Our Client, a restaurant, seeks to employ an Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Monitor sales, expenses, cash flow, and profitability.
- Reconcile cash, POS, bank, and other payment accounts.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Monitor daily sales and identify revenue variances.
- Track food, beverage, and operating costs.
- Monitor inventory usage and wastage.
- Identify financial leakages and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with approved prices, budgets, and financial policies.
- Identify new business and revenue opportunities for the restaurant.
- Develop ideas for new products, services, promotions, and revenue streams.
- Conduct basic market and competitor analysis.
- Develop business proposals and financial projections for new ideas.
- Work with management to test and implement viable business ideas.
- Identify opportunities to increase customer spending and improve profitability.
- Provide financial information to support management decision-making.
- Analyse business performance and recommend areas for improvement.
- Participate in management and strategy meetings.
- Support the development of business plans and growth strategies.
Requirements
- B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/POS systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of restaurant operations and cost management.
- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
