About this role

Overview

Case Aide performs various supportive activities for casework services in support of the needs of the Enhanced Family Foster Care Program. Duties may include “support activities” such as collecting information or investigating situations to obtain information about family situations; directly assisting children and family members in various ways, e.g., providing transportation, arranging home visits, accompanying children to service providers, participating in and reporting observations and findings at case conferences. Work is performed under the supervision of a Case Work Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with locating information regarding parents/families and resources in the community and communicates information to case planners. 
  • Follows through on-case aide-related assignments, i.e., make home visits when approved by the Case Work Supervisor, help supervise child-family contact visits. Accompany children to service providers.
  • Assist with office administrative tasks including placement modules in Connections, processing letters and other mailings, serving as a receptionist.
  • Assists in maintaining an orderly, safe, and informative on-site environment for children and parents.
  • Promptly reports hazards and all observations suggesting suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children to the appropriate individual.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Performs related and similar duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree is strongly preferred plus a minimum of two years of prior experience as an Office Assistant.
  • High School Degree or GED equivalent also considered with prior experience in child welfare environment.
  • Valid NYS Driver License

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time Hybrid position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
