Job DetailsJob Location: Red Lake Field Office - Artesia, NM 88210Position Type: Internship/SeasonalPosition Summary:
The Environmental Engineering/Science Intern offers hands-on experience supporting the Environmental, Health, Safety, Regulatory (EHSR) and production operations team alongside experienced EHSR and operations field staff. The Intern will assist in analyzing production facilities, emissions and leak detection, regulatory issues and operations on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands.

Responsibilities

• Conduct leak detection and correction along with strategy for optimal facility management.
• Work projects to optimize operational procedures and enhancements for environmentally responsible operations.
• Explore additional or new technologies to enhance leak detection, route cause analysis and preventative maintenance of facilities.
• Work in a team environment with field personnel, engineering, EHSR staff through all phases of asset planning and development.
• Develop a working understanding of facilities operations, techniques and applications.
• Field visits are designed to witness production operations and foster engagement with field and office personnel.
• Any other duties as requested or required.

Skills and Competencies

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Familiarity with databases and their functionality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain both digital and hard copy files
• Ability to multi-task on several different projects for different team members while being able to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong desire to work and contribute to a team environment
• Willing to visit field operations and work outdoors when necessary to coordinate operations with field personnel

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
