About this role

This role is for an Industrial Maintenance Apprentice who balances hands-on technical training with mandatory academic coursework. The position focuses on repairing and fabricating facility machinery while earning an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain a variety of production and facility equipment
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel and supervisors as required                                                                                                     
  • Under direction, move machines; install pipe, fixtures, and related equipment; and provide support work for plant improvement projects                                                                                                     
  • Under direction, use machine tools or other special equipment to form/fabricate parts and components                                                                                                     
  • Build simple structures from wood, metal, or other materials, as directed, using hand tools, power tools, welding and basic fabricating techniques
  • Get required tools, or equipment, clean up area, and store tools and equipment                                                                                                     
  • Maintain forklift certification
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must participate in continuing education courses in pursuit of AAS degree as outlined in the Apprenticeship guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and extended hours                                                                                                     
  • Previous Technical School background or related experience
  • Willing to learn maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and repair
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and repair                                                                                                     
  • Previous Industrial Maintenance/manufacturing experience and/or preventive maintenance
  • PLC training or experience
  • Electrical/electronic training

Must have spirit of cooperation and coordination
