About this role

We are looking for a Director of Forward Deployed Engineering with 6–15 years of experience to lead and scale Regal's FDE team — the group responsible for turning AI voice agents into measurable business outcomes for enterprise customers. This is a foundational leadership role reporting directly to the COO, ideal for an entrepreneurial, commercially-minded builder who thrives at the intersection of technical delivery, customer strategy, and team leadership.

What will you be doing?

Lead a team of 5 FDEs and AI Product Specialists — coaching, hiring, and setting the quality bar for enterprise AI agent deployments

Own end-to-end customer engagements: agent implementation, optimization, and expansion — driving consumption-based revenue targets across 30+ concurrent deployments

Act as the entrepreneurial owner of each customer relationship, identifying new use cases and growth opportunities to maximize Regal's footprint within accounts

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to turn field insights into productized features and scalable implementation playbooks

Influence go-to-market strategy by surfacing frontline learnings about what use cases resonate and how to position Regal's AI agents more effectively

Key Requirements

Experience at a high-growth startup in an FDE, deployment strategist, or technical PM role deploying complex, mission-critical software into enterprise customers — pure Big Tech without startup experience is not sufficient

Strong executive presence — must be able to command a room with C-level customers and confidently represent Regal without needing to bring a technical counterpart

Technical aptitude around AI/LLMs (can explain multi-step agents, APIs, data integrations) with data analysis fluency (SQL, Python, or Excel) — not a software engineer, but can "cursor their way" into solutions

2+ years managing a technical customer-facing team (or equivalent founder/team-lead experience) with a track record of coaching and developing talent

Must be based in or actively relocating to New York City — in-office Tue/Wed/Thu in Midtown HQ is non-negotiable
