The eCommerce Product Owner serves as the bridge between business needs and technology solutions, helping the organization make smarter, data-driven decisions across online retail platforms. This role is responsible for shaping the vision, priorities, and requirements for eCommerce data and measurement products that support the optimization of digital commerce strategies.
Working closely with the eCommerce team, the Product Owner gathers business needs, translates them into actionable requirements for technical teams, and ensures solutions are aligned with both user needs and business goals. The role uses data and insights to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and develop tools that improve product visibility, digital shelf performance, and the effectiveness of media and promotional investments.
Key responsibilities include partnering with eCommerce stakeholders and leadership to deliver trusted reporting, scalable measurement frameworks, and practical solutions that enable continuous improvement in online execution and business performance. The Product Owner collaborates cross-functionally with IT teams, external vendors, consultants, and business partners, serving as a central point of connection across eCommerce data and measurement initiatives.

Job Description
UNIFIED E-COMMERCE DATA FRAMEWORK
Own the business logic and requirements framework across eCommerce data and measurement projects, partnering with relevant business owners to translate objectives, definitions, and decision into clear specifications for reporting and technical teams.
Partner with IT/data engineering on the integration of new data sources and identify opportunities to improve scalability and reduce manual processes through automation.
Act as the eCommerce team's day-to-day point of contact into Data Engineering, IT, and Reporting Teams, translating reporting needs and business requirements and language into clear technical specifications.
Partner with IT on the integration of new data sources, and highlight where automation would reduce manual reporting work.
Lead sourcing, selection, and management of vendors/consultants engaged to build data models and measurement frameworks where in-house expertise doesn't exist, including cost negotiation and contract management.
TRANSLATE DATA INTO INSIGHTS
Define the business logic and KPI requirements that the team's reporting suite and underlying data is built against.
Identify and define key performance indicators (KPIs) that effectively measure the impact of eCommerce activations.
Work closely with the eCommerce team to ensure that data insights are integrated into daily operations and strategic planning.
Foster a data-driven culture within the eCommerce team, promoting the use of analytics to inform decision-making.
STAKEHOLDER SUPPORT
Act as first point of contact for the team on reporting and dashboard questions.
Help stakeholders get more from existing tools through informal coaching and clear documentation — not a formal training/change-management remit.
BUSINESS REVIEWS & BENCHMARKING
Own the data requirements, definitions, and measurement frameworks for total eCommerce sales, share, investment, and execution performance.
Drive investment analysis logic and architecture to ensure the budget is effectively allocated and spent.
Develop a framework to benchmark internal performance across sales and online execution performance.
Track retailer and media network technology roadmaps, advising the business on how to prepare for upcoming platform enhancements, and negotiate costs and contract terms with vendors and retail media partners.
Qualifications
6+ years of work experience in analytics, data analysis, or related fields, with at least 2 years of experience with eCommerce
Working knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Excel) sufficient to translate business requirements and validate vendor/IT output
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Vendor/consultant management and contract negotiation experience
Retail media and retailer platform fluency (e.g., Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target/Roundel) and familiarity with their technology roadmaps
Experience working with retailer data, digital shelf data, product content syndication, or related B2B eCommerce data ecosystems.
Experience in beverage, CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), or FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) industries preferred
Project management experience, with the ability to manage priorities, requirements, dependencies, and delivery risks across multiple concurrent internal and vendor supported workstreams.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
Preferred: Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including data grain, dimensions, hierarchies, mappings, and relationships, with the ability to translate business requirements and evaluate data structures.
Additional Information
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $92,000 - 138,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
