We are recruiting for Security Officer for Navi Mumbai, India.
The selected candidate will responsible and accountable for maintaining and fulfilling all security requirements of station. Responsible for the implementation and oversight of approved Security Programs and ensure effective execution of security controls in compliance with BCAS, DGCA, AAI, airport operator requirements, and company security policies. Liaise with local government agencies, airport authorities, security agencies, cargo terminal operators, ground handling agents, and regulatory bodies to ensure security compliance and secure handling of cargo, courier, mail, and company materials. Monitor and coordinate all security activities to protect aircraft operations, cargo assets, personnel, and facilities while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for all matters related to Security Operations.
- Accompany and facilitate BCAS auditors during station audits, inspections, assessment, and meetings, as required and when on duty.
- Maintain and provide records in accordance with BCAS audit and inspection requirements.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and compliance checks of cargo facilities, warehouses, screening equipment, bonded areas, cargo acceptance points, storage areas, restricted zones, and access control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports related to security operations, including security incidents, cargo discrepancies, detection of prohibited items, security violations, thefts, and pilferage incidents, to the airport operator and management as required.
- Act as the Station Security Officer and liaise with Cargo Handling Agents, Ground Handling Agents, Cargo Terminal Operators, Airport Operators, CISF, BCAS, Customs, Qatar Airways departments, and other stakeholders to ensure the implementation of security directives, regulatory compliance, and secure cargo operations.
- Attend all security-related meetings, including Airport Security Committee (APSC), Bomb Threat Review Committee (BTRC), Airport Operations Committee (AOC), and other security forums in the absence of the Line Manager.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with security requirements related to the screening, acceptance, storage, build-up, transportation, and loading of cargo, courier, mail, valuable cargo, dangerous goods, and company materials in accordance with approved security programs and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Cargo Terminal Operators and Handling Agents to ensure the secure acceptance, storage, build-up, transportation, and loading of cargo onto aircraft. Coordinate with Ground Handling Agents, Cargo, Catering, Fuel, Maintenance, and Ramp stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of security controls during aircraft turnaround and cargo handling activities.
- Facilitate the Ramp Handling activities in liaison with GHA, Caterers, Fuels, Maintenance, and crew to expedite departure.
- Perform the Freighter Turnaround Checks (FTC) duty as assigned by the Cargo Operations Manager to ensure safe operation of QR freighter aircraft.
- Review aircraft allocation according to the Movement Signals / Late Arrivals / Loads.
- Provide support to Cargo Officer to support cargo operations and ensure ULD/s are maximized to fullest and maintain close liaison with the relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure optimum utilization of security resources through effective duty allocation and deployment of security personnel across cargo facilities and operational areas.
- Initiate, coordinate, and monitor enhanced security measures during periods of increased threat levels, elevated risks, critical flight operations, high-value cargo movements, security incidents, special operations, or as directed by Qatar Airways Group Security, BCAS, or local authorities.
- Conduct aircraft security searches, cargo facility inspections, and aircraft turnaround security checks, as assigned, to ensure compliance with security requirements and the safe conduct of airline operations.
- Ensure the secure handling and protection of Company Materials (COMAT), mail, courier consignments, valuable cargo, and other regulated cargo throughout the supply chain.
- Perform duties related to security screening operations and verify compliance with applicable security requirements for cargo, mail, courier consignments, and company materials.
- Analyze and maintain security-related records, including training records, Airport Entry Pass (AEP) records, authorization records, and staff qualification records, to support audit and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ensure the effective implementation of security measures, procedures, standards, policies, and directives prescribed in the QR Aircraft Operator Security Programme (AOSP), QR AOSP Indian Supplement, BCAS regulations, and local airport security requirements.
- Analyze daily cargo operations, security reports, incident trends, audit findings, and station activities, and provide reports and recommendations to the Senior Security Officer and Management.
- Liaise with CISF, Customs, Immigration (where applicable), Airport Security Units, and local law enforcement agencies on cargo security matters and security-related investigations.
- Monitor and control the validity of Airport Entry Passes (AEPs), vehicle permits, access permissions, and restricted-area access authorizations for staff and contractors.
- Investigate and report security breaches, thefts, pilferage incidents, security violations, suspicious activities, possession of prohibited articles, and other security-related incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Known Consignor (KC), Regulated Agent (RA), Secure Supply Chain, and other cargo security program requirements applicable under Indian aviation security regulations.
- Monitor the serviceability and effectiveness of CCTV systems, cargo screening equipment, access control systems, security seals, and other security infrastructure. Report deficiencies and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure continuous compliance and operational effectiveness.

- High School or Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade or Diploma qualification with minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Holding valid Certification of Basic ASVEC Course.
- Prior experience in handling security functions in an airline industry.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Good working knowledge of general security operations requirements.
- Understanding of airline operations and their security requirements.
- Well-developed writing skills.
- Ability to take decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of IATA, security standards, aviation rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of security audit and security investigations.
- Knowledge of best practices in aviation industry.
- Command over English.
