Responsibilities

 

Peraton is hiring a Data Center Network Service Delivery Manager to support the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). This position provides overall network service delivery leadership across the Austin Data Center (ADC), San Angelo Data Center (SDC), and CyrusOne colocation nodes in Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. The successful candidate will oversee a complex enterprise data center network environment encompassing the DCN Ring, LAN infrastructure, firewalls, load balancers, cloud connectivity, VRFs, routing, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), remote access infrastructure, firewall automation, and network laboratory operations.

 

Candidate must be willing to travel to both sites- Austin and San Angelo TX. and must be local to the Austin TX area or willing to relocate. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain overall accountability for all data center network services across:
    • Austin Data Center (ADC)
    • San Angelo Data Center (SDC)
    • CyrusOne colocation nodes
  • Manage DCN Ring operations, including a 20 Gbps MPLS network across five locations:
    • Austin Data Center
    • San Angelo Data Center
    • Austin CyrusOne
    • Dallas CyrusOne
    • San Antonio CyrusOne
  • Oversee LAN operations at both Consolidated Data Centers, including approximately:
    • 205 data switches
    • 164 fabric extenders
    • 64 firewalls
    • 44 load balancers
  • Manage CyrusOne colocation nodes in:
    • Austin
    • Dallas
    • San Antonio
  • Manage public cloud connectivity across:
    • Azure Government
    • AWS Government
    • Azure Commercial
    • AWS Commercial
  • Oversee approximately 60 Gbps of cloud connectivity via Megaport.
  • Manage approximately 40–50 VRFs.
  • Provide operational oversight of:
    • OSPF
    • MPLS
    • MP-BGP
    • BFD
  • Lead Software-Defined Networking (SDN) operations and evolution.
  • Oversee automated firewall rule management.
  • Manage a minimum 500-user two-factor remote access infrastructure.
  • Maintain the LAN laboratory used for pre-production change testing.
  • Coordinate network service delivery, operational performance, change management, incident resolution, and infrastructure evolution.
  • Maintain network availability, stability, security, and performance across the in-scope environment.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
  • 8+ years of enterprise data center networking experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with MPLS, BGP, and OSPF routing design and operations
  • Cisco data center platform experience including:
    • Cisco ASR routers
    • Cisco Nexus switches
  • Software-Defined Networking (SDN) design and operations experience
  • Experience with firewall management and network security operations.
  • Experience managing multi-tenant network environments, including:
    • VRF
    • MPLS
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data center network architecture, routing, switching, security, and connectivity.
  • Experience managing complex, high-availability network environments.
  • Strong network service delivery and operational leadership experience.
  • Cisco CCNP (Data Center or Enterprise) Certification
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with cloud connectivity, including:
    • Megaport
    • AWS Direct Connect
    • Azure ExpressRoute
  • Cisco CCIE strongly preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation preferred.
  • Government IT networking experience preferred.
  • Experience managing network infrastructure within a government or regulated environment.
  • Experience with large-scale multi-site data center networks.
  • Experience with SDN transformation and network modernization.
  • Experience with network automation and automated security rule management.
  • Experience supporting multi-vendor/MSI government IT environments.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
