Our team: The Global Business Solutions team sits within Pearson’s Revenue Operations organization and partners closely with Sales, Proposal/Bid Management, Finance, Legal, Technology, Operations, Product, and Delivery teams to shape feasible, compliant, and commercially sound solutions for strategic customer opportunities. The team acts as a technical and commercial hub in the bid process, helping translate customer requirements into scalable solution responses, approved cost models, and clear governance decisions.
About the Role:
This role aligns with industry-level titles such as Bid Solutioning, Presales Solutions, Sales Operations, Proposal Solutions, Solution Architect, and Bid Strategy.
We are looking for a Global Business Solutions Lead Specialist to join our Revenue Operations organization. In this senior individual contributor role, you will support complex, high-value opportunities across Pearson by helping create customer-focused, scalable, and compliant bid solutions.
In this role, you will work alongside proposal writers, sellers, and functional subject matter experts to shape the solution behind each opportunity. You will help define what Pearson can deliver, identify solution gaps, coordinate stakeholder input, support cost modelling, and ensure solutions are feasible, competitive, and appropriately approved before bid submission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead solution development and presales support for complex, strategic opportunities across Pearson.
- Partner with Sales, Proposal/Bid Management, Product, Finance, Legal, Technology, Operations, and Delivery teams to translate RFP requirements into feasible customer solutions.
- Act as a technical and commercial hub during the bid lifecycle, coordinating input from functional-area specialists and ensuring the right stakeholders are consulted.
- Support the development of approved cost models, effort estimates, and investment assumptions to help determine operating income and commercial viability.
- Ensure proposed solutions are compliant, practical, scalable, and aligned with customer requirements, Pearson capabilities, and internal governance standards.
- Identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and ambiguities in customer requirements, and work with stakeholders to resolve them before submission.
- Drive consistency, process discipline, and best practices across solutioning and bid support activities.
- Use data, reporting, and insights to improve efficiency, capacity planning, visibility, and team performance.
- Support the creation and maintenance of sales enablement resources, documentation, tools, and process materials.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness and scalability of the Global Business Solutions team.
Required skills and experience:
Fluency in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly to different audiences.
Proven experience in presales, bid management, solution consulting, or a similar commercial support role for complex customer opportunities.
Strong understanding of sales processes, customer engagement, and proposal or RFP response cycles.
Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify scope, identify solution gaps, influence decisions, and build effective relationships across a matrixed, globally distributed organization.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, documentation needs, and governance requirements.
Strong customer focus, commercial awareness, and familiarity with global business practices and multicultural environments.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with teams across different countries and time zones. Candidates must be based in either Colombia or Mexico.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
