Responsibilities:

  • Review all previous day deliveries for short, overages, damages, and refusals.
  • Investigate packages without identification to ensure they are directed to the appropriate customer.
  • Conduct a damaged good assessment, contact shipper, schedule external inspection, and obtain disposition from shipper based on outcome of investigation.
  • Answer phone calls and provide customer service by assisting with inquiries.
  • May work with Drivers to resolve freight claims.
  • After thorough investigation, report all unidentified freight to the claims team.
  • Assist the claims team with salvage freight.
  • Other office duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in position with significant customer contact and customer service.
  • At least 1 year in administrative role in an office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to track several different packages and inquiries simultaneously.
  • LTL experience and knowledge of terminology and processes in shipping strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work across several different Oak Harbor departments to resolve issues.
  • Strong PC proficiency and experience using MS Office products. AS400 experience preferred but not required.
  • H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
