Business Line Description:

NXP's CTO Functional Safety Competence Centre (FuSa CC) is a central engineering organization responsible for safety architecture and management for NXP's Automotive, Edge, Audio , Analog and Radar Processing business lines. Team produces functional safety solutions covering the very wide-range of SoC solutions required by the business lines. The team is challenged to produce industry-leading functional safety solutions covering very cost-sensitive, low power devices to highly-integrated, high performance, multi-domain devices compliant with the latest automotive and industrial safety standards.

Job Summary:

  • Deliver state of the art functional safety Platform and IP solutions to Automotive and Industrial products compliant with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

  • Define safety requirements for Platform and IP modules.

  • Support the management of Platform and IP modules developed as SEooC through its entire lifecycle, working in close collaboration with internal Design Teams.

  • Prepare the safety modules for functional safety assessment.

  • Support SoC integration of safety Platform and IP including implementation of IP assumptions of use.

  • Safety analysis - FMEDA / FTA / DFA and fault injection.

Key Challenges:

  • Good working knowledge of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

  • Experience in complex SoC and IP development compliant to ISO26262: Part 11.

  • Experience with Safety Audits/Assessments.

  • Experience in Safety Analysis Techniques (FTA, DFA, FMEDA), Fault Injection.

  • Proven track record of leading IP , Subsystem or SoC functional safety development through all lifecycle phases and ensuring safety standard compliance

Cross functional aspects:

  • Contribute to the functional safety expert community within NXP to improve our processes, our safety features and our marketing of these features to our customers.

  • Define Platform and IP and safety features and roadmaps in-line with Functional architecture.

  • Work closely with internal and external IP teams to define and deliver ISO 26262 compliant IP.

  • Report to management on compliance status, gaps and mitigation actions.

  • Support SoC teams to integrate safety Platform and IP assumptions of use.

Job Qualifications:

  • B Tech in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering or other similar discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8 or more years of experience preferred.
