About the role
You will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of our Wired Drillpipe systems. Starting as an Assistant Technician, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, develop your technical expertise, and grow within a supportive team environment. You will work closely with engineers and technicians, providing technical support while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient workshop. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to high-quality maintenance and workshop operations that support some of Norway's leading energy operators, including Equinor and Aker BP.

Responsibilities
What you will do
- Assist in the disassembly and assembly of Wired Drillpipe components, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
- Perform routine maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues, ensuring equipment longevity.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement equipment improvements and stay at the forefront of industry advancements.
- Prioritize safety by adhering to safety standards during all maintenance processes, creating a secure work environment.
- Accurately document maintenance activities, maintaining comprehensive records for future reference and analysis.
- Provide timely technical support to field operations, offering expertise and assistance when needed.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new technicians, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Work closely with the operations team to optimize equipment performance, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and efficient workflow.
- Stay proactive and adaptable, embracing new technologies and best practices to continuously enhance maintenance processes.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking for effective issue resolution and decision-making.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, adapting to different work dynamics and contributing to a cohesive team environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with colleagues, engineers, and field personnel.
- A willingness to learn and stay updated with industry advancements, embracing new technologies and best practices to enhance maintenance strategies.
- A safety-conscious mindset is essential, prioritizing the well-being of oneself and colleagues, and adhering to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- A technical background or relevant education is preferred, demonstrating a solid foundation in maintenance practices.
- Experience in a similar maintenance role is advantageous, showcasing practical skills and knowledge in equipment maintenance.
- Basic understanding of drilling operations is beneficial, allowing for a comprehensive approach to maintenance tasks and equipment knowledge.
- Proficiency in using maintenance software is a plus, enhancing efficiency, record-keeping accuracy, and data management.
- A valid crane operator certificate is an advantage.
- A valid forklift license is an advantage.
