Senior Software Engineer
Northstar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect, build, and maintain the core systems that power the business. You'll partner closely with the engineering team to solve complex technical problems, ship reliable features, and uphold best practices that keep the platform scalable and the product experience strong. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape technical direction and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable software services and systems.
- Lead architecture discussions and make thoughtful technical tradeoffs.
- Write clean, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to plan and ship features.
- Mentor other engineers and help raise the team's technical standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance issues to improve system reliability.
What Northstar is looking for
- 0–1 year of software engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping production systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and comfort with system design and architecture.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects and drive them to completion.
- Excellent collaboration skills and a team-first approach to problem solving.
- Experience mentoring others and contributing to a strong engineering culture.
- Authorization to work in your country of residence without visa sponsorship.
- Ability to work remotely.
