Newmont Suriname was established in 2004 as an entity of Newmont Mining Corporation and is headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. Located in South America, Suriname was originally settled as a Dutch colony, is very culturally diverse and enjoys a tropical climate. The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site. Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders.

Purpose
Coordinate and execute work management processes to ensure efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and compliance with safety and performance standards.
Essential Duties
- Assist in preparing and implementing maintenance schedules to align with operational goals.
- Monitor and report on work order progress, noting delays and ensuring timely completion.
- Assess resource allocation and availability to meet scheduling demands.
- Liaise with planners and supervisors to confirm work packages are complete and accurate.
- Administer records of work orders, schedules, and associated documentation.
- Collaborate with supply chain and maintenance teams to confirm materials and tools are available on time.
- Assess work management data to recognize trends and suggest process improvements.
- Assist in weekly planning and scheduling meetings, confirming alignment across departments.
- Assist in applying continuous improvement initiatives in work management processes.
- Adhere to compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Training & Experience
Knowledge:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling principles.
- Knowledge of work management processes and asset management practices.
- Working knowledge of maintenance systems such as SAP PM
- Understanding of safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of resource planning, materials management, and maintenance workflows.
- Ability to interpret maintenance reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Understanding of continuous improvement principles and work management best practices.
Technical Skills from Capability Framework
- Uses work management systems (SAP PM, Microsoft Office) to support planning and scheduling activities.
- Maintains and updates work orders, maintenance schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Generates and distributes reports on work management performance and schedule compliance.
- Reviews work packages for completeness and readiness prior to execution.
- Tracks labor, materials, and equipment availability to support scheduled work.
- Assists in identifying work management bottlenecks and recommends improvements.
- Supports planning meetings by preparing schedules, backlog information, and KPI reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and reporting tools.
- Applies company standards and procedures when managing maintenance work processes
Candidates with a Maintenance Engineering background and relevant maintenance experience will be preferred.
