About this role
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the regional supply chain strategy in alignment with overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Lead the end-to-end supply chain function across Malaysia and Singapore, covering procurement, demand planning, supply planning, warehousing, logistics, and inventory management.
- Build a scalable and resilient supply chain capable of supporting continued restaurant and business expansion.
- Establish supply chain KPIs, governance frameworks, and performance standards across both markets.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels, working capital, and overall supply chain performance.
2. Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for food ingredients, packaging, equipment, consumables, and other operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain a robust supplier network across local and international markets.
- Lead commercial negotiations to achieve competitive pricing, favourable terms, quality standards, and reliable supply.
- Develop supplier performance management frameworks covering cost, quality, service levels, lead times, and supply continuity.
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing, localization, and cost optimization.
3. Demand & Supply Planning
- Oversee demand and supply planning processes to ensure the right products and materials are available at the right time and location.
- Work closely with Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial teams to align forecasts with business plans, promotions, seasonal demand, and new outlet openings.
- Improve forecasting accuracy and inventory planning through data-driven methodologies.
- Establish contingency and risk mitigation plans for critical products and materials.
4. Inventory & Working Capital Management
- Develop strategies to optimize inventory levels while maintaining high product availability across restaurants.
- Monitor stock levels, inventory turnover, expiry, wastage, slow-moving items, and product availability.
- Balance service levels with working capital objectives and minimize unnecessary inventory holding costs.
- Drive improvements in inventory accuracy and visibility across the supply chain.
5. Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution
- Oversee regional warehousing, transportation, distribution, and last-mile delivery operations.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective distribution of products and materials to restaurants across Malaysia and Singapore.
- Optimize distribution networks, transportation routes, warehouse capacity, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor logistics partners and establish service-level standards to ensure consistent operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and reduce distribution costs.
6. New Outlet & Business Expansion
- Partner with Operations, Development, Finance, and Project teams to ensure supply chain readiness for new restaurant openings.
- Develop supply plans, supplier capacity, logistics requirements, and inventory strategies to support expansion.
- Ensure new outlets are fully equipped with required products, materials, and operational supplies prior to opening.
- Assess supply chain capacity and scalability to support future business growth.
7. Supplier & Risk Management
- Establish strong strategic relationships with key suppliers and business partners.
- Develop supply continuity and business contingency plans for critical ingredients and materials.
- Monitor geopolitical, commodity, regulatory, and market risks that may impact supply availability or costs.
- Establish alternative sourcing strategies for critical products to minimize supply disruption.
8. Supply Chain Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to digitalize and improve supply chain processes, systems, and reporting.
- Utilize data analytics and technology to improve forecasting, inventory visibility, procurement effectiveness, and operational decision-making.
- Drive process standardization and SOP improvements across Malaysia and Singapore.
- Identify and implement initiatives that improve cost efficiency, service levels, productivity, and scalability.
9. Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Food Innovation/R&D, Quality Assurance, and Commercial teams to align supply chain priorities with business requirements.
- Provide senior management with clear insights into supply chain performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
- Ensure strong alignment between Malaysia and Singapore teams while maintaining appropriate local market flexibility.
10. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional supply chain organization.
- Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations across procurement, planning, logistics, and warehouse teams.
- Build strong succession planning and talent development within the supply chain function.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/director-level position.
- Strong experience managing end-to-end supply chain functions, including procurement, planning, logistics, warehousing, and inventory.
- Experience within F&B, QSR, FMCG, food manufacturing, retail, or other high-volume consumer-facing environments is highly preferred.
- Regional experience covering Malaysia and Singapore will be a strong advantage.
- Proven experience managing supply chains supporting multi-site operations, restaurant networks, retail outlets, or geographically distributed businesses.
Technical & Commercial Skills
- Strong knowledge of strategic procurement, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and S&OP.
- Strong commercial and negotiation capabilities with experience managing strategic suppliers and high-value contracts.
- Excellent understanding of food and ingredient sourcing, supplier qualification, quality requirements, and supply continuity.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, cost structures, working capital, and supply chain savings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive business decisions.
- Experience with ERP, WMS, demand planning, procurement, and supply chain technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of supply chain KPIs and performance management.
