Mustang Cat is hiring a Condition Monitoring Analyst to help monitor equipment health, identify developing concerns, and recommend appropriate next steps to keep customers’ machines operating at their best.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience as a Service Coordinator, Service Advisor, Technician, or in a similar technical service role who wants to use their equipment knowledge in a primarily computer-based position.

What You’ll Do as a Condition Monitoring Analyst

In this role, you’ll use machine health information and your technical knowledge to help identify potential equipment concerns, determine appropriate next steps, and communicate recommendations to customers and internal service teams.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Review machine health information from sources such as oil analysis, telematics, equipment inspections, fault codes, and service history
  • Identify developing equipment concerns and determine when additional troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, or repair may be needed
  • Use technical knowledge and available machine information to help troubleshoot equipment issues remotely
  • Develop practical service and maintenance recommendations based on machine condition
  • Communicate equipment concerns and recommended next steps clearly to customers and internal service teams
  • Follow up on identified issues and recommendations to help ensure concerns are addressed
  • Document findings, recommendations, customer communication, and outcomes in applicable systems
  • Work closely with Service and other departments to support proactive equipment maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Review system-generated information and alerts, using sound judgment to determine which items require action

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in equipment service, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, or a related technical environment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to understand equipment-related issues
  • Ability to review machine information, recognize potential concerns, and determine appropriate next steps
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in computer-based systems and learning new technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technicians, service personnel, customers, and other departments

 

Experience That Would Be a Plus

  • Previous experience as a Service Coordinator, Service Advisor, Diesel Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Field Service Technician, or similar service-related position
  • Heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, construction equipment, industrial equipment, or related industry experience
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical or equipment issues
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment
  • Experience with Caterpillar systems or condition monitoring tools such as VisionLink, Cat Inspect, SIS, or Foresight
  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or other mechanical/technical training
