About this role

Purpose / Project Description:

Enumerators will support various programs’ Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) function by conducting beneficiary registration, verification, and a range of assessments. These include baseline, midline, and endline surveys; post-distribution monitoring (PDM); activity output monitoring; needs assessments; and disaster risk management-related assessments in targeted districts, as required by specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data collection for (Beneficiary registration and verification, Baseline, midline, and endline surveys, post-distribution monitoring, Activity monitoring, Other program-related assessments.
  • Support the MEL team in preparing, testing, and uploading digital data collection tools
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained from all respondents before interviews
  • Conduct interviews and focus group discussions in a clear, accurate, and neutral manner
  • Review completed questionnaires for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before submission
  • Upload collected data to the designated server within agreed timelines
  • Assist in basic data cleaning and verification
  • Report field challenges, security issues, or inconsistencies to the MEL Officer immediately
  • Represent Mercy Corps professionally when interacting with community members, partners, and local authorities

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant fields

Years of Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in data collection for humanitarian or development projects, preferably in livelihoods, MPCA, or disaster risk reduction contexts

Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms such as ODK, ONA, CommCare, or Kobo

Management & Collaboration:

Report directly to the Program MEL Officer at Mercy Corps

Work closely with program technical teams and other relevant staff involved in program implementation

Maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and impartiality in all program-related activities
