About this role
Role Overview
As we scale our manufacturing capacity, we are seeking a results-driven Technical Project Manager to own the lifecycle of our custom, non-off-the-shelf capital equipment. You will serve as the strategic bridge between internal R&D/Engineering teams, external contract manufacturers, and factory operations. By taking ownership of complex logistical and operational challenges, you will enable our lead engineers to focus on high-level R&D, ensuring our custom, multi-million-dollar automated tools are delivered on time, within budget, and ready for high-volume manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & CapEx Leadership: Define and maintain master project schedules, critical paths, and milestones across the custom equipment portfolio. Manage multi-million-dollar capital budgets and long-lead component procurement.
Cross-Functional Synchronization: Orchestrate daily activities between R&D, Equipment Engineering, Quality, and High-Volume Manufacturing teams. Ensure seamless engineering change order (ECO) management across hardware, software, and process teams to prevent build delays.
Operational Readiness & Vendor Management: Serve as the primary operational link with external vendors. Drive accountability for technical specifications and deliverable quality, with a specific focus on orchestrating successful Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify technical and schedule bottlenecks. Maintain dynamic risk matrices and project dashboards to provide executive leadership with clear insights for resolving trade-offs and scope adjustments.
Qualifications
5+ years of technical program management overseeing custom capital equipment development (e.g., semiconductor fabrication tools, automated assembly lines, robotics, or high-precision optics).
Ability to engage comfortably with mechanical, electrical, software, and process engineers on high-precision automated systems.
Proven track record in vendor operations, managing long-lead supply chain components, and driving structured operational readiness.
Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technical, mechanical, and software data into structured, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
