About this role

Job Summary

The Sr. Corporate Account Manager is responsible for developing new business and expanding strategic customer relationships within targeted industrial aluminum markets. This is a hands-on sales role focused on identifying, pursuing, and winning new opportunities with customers in the marine, pleasure boat, pontoon, heavy truck, trailer, appliance and defense markets.

The ideal candidate is a proven sales “hunter” who understands these end markets, can build relationships with decision-makers, and can translate customer needs into profitable aluminum product and service solutions. Aluminum experience is preferred, but strong market knowledge, customer relationships, and a demonstrated ability to develop new accounts are the highest priorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and develop new customer opportunities within targeted aluminum-consuming markets, with emphasis on marine, pleasure boat, pontoon, heavy truck, defense, appliance and trailer customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, buyers, engineers, and operations contacts at prospective and existing accounts.
  • Drive new business development activity through prospecting, market research, customer visits, cold outreach, networking, and follow-up on qualified leads.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s application, material requirements, purchasing process, and service expectations.
  • Partner with internal commercial, operations, materials management, and technical teams to develop competitive proposals and service solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Manage the sales process from opportunity identification through quoting, negotiation, onboarding, and account growth.
  • Grow revenue, gross margin, and market share within assigned target accounts and market segments.
  • Monitor customer demand, competitive activity, and market trends that may impact sales opportunities or account strategy.
  • Support pricing, inventory, and special-order decisions by providing accurate customer insight, volume expectations, and market feedback.
  • Professionally represent Kloeckner in the marketplace and position KMC as a trusted supplier and value-added partner.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of successful outside sales, business development, or account management experience in industrial, manufacturing, metals, distribution, OEM, or related markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing new accounts, opening doors with target customers, and converting prospects into long-term business relationships.
  • Working knowledge of marine, pleasure boat, pontoon, heavy truck, trailer, or similar industrial markets strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling aluminum flat rolled products, common alloy aluminum, or other metal products preferred but not required.
  • Established relationships with high-volume consumers of aluminum or related industrial materials are highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel regularly to meet with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders.

Skills and Abilities

  • High-energy, self-directed sales professional with a hunter mindset and strong sense of ownership.
  • Skilled at prospecting, relationship building, consultative selling, negotiation, and closing new business.
  • Ability to understand customer applications and connect needs to product, processing, inventory, and service solutions.
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and presentation skills with both customers and internal teams.
  • Commercially focused with the ability to balance revenue growth, margin expectations, service requirements, and long-term account potential.
  • Organized and disciplined in managing a sales pipeline, customer activity, and account development plans.
