HYBRID | ONSITE AT JOSTENS’ MINNEAPOLIS HEADQUARTERS 3 DAYS/WEEK
 
 
ABOUT YOU:
You will direct and execute the operational and tactical delivery of IT infrastructure and technology services aligned to enterprise strategy. 

You are responsible for managing core IT operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability of systems, and supporting the implementation of technology initiatives that enable the organization’s business objectives. 

You are directly responsible for the IT Operations department, which includes Network Engineering; Systems Engineering (Windows, UNIX); Data Services (DBAs); Systems Administration; Service Desk; Network Operations Center; and Sales Support Technology. 
 
YOU WILL:
 
  • Provide director level input into Information Technology Strategic Planning
  • Translate IT strategic vision into operational plans and measurable service outcomes
  • Participate in long- and short-range planning and directing of operational activities
  • Lead in the execution of the IT governance process
  • Implement overall IT governance and oversee adherence to policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain an infrastructure and operations roadmap focused on reducing complexity, increasing agility, emphasizing re-usability, and adhering to cost effective management
  • Serve as technical and operational consultant to leadership and business managers
  • Advise on technical strategies and translate business requirements into operational solutions
  • Support vendor and consultant engagement; perform research and analysis and prepare reports, proposals and recommendations
  • Understand and evaluate the applicability of new technical developments in area of information systems, office service and office automation equipment and software
  • Keep informed on industry trends and emerging technologies that can serve as a competitive advantage or threat
  • Maintain technological knowledge on a broad variety of topics and skills, including data and application integration, cloud infrastructure, operations automation and security
  • Provide direction and leadership to Technology Team
  • Provide administrative direction and coordination of departmental activities
  • Assist in the preparation, development and administration of departmental expenditure and revenue budgets
  • Monitor, coordinate and support internal communication and activities to ensure effective service delivery
  • Drive operational excellence through service management, incident/problem/change management, and continuous improvement
YOU HAVE:
  • 4-year degree or higher in related technical and business areas
  • A minimum of 7 years of technology experience and related management experience
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and tools, and a strong knowledge of applicable business areas, the supporting technology architecture, and applicable processes
  • Strong knowledge of relevant applications and development life cycles, general knowledge of professional services vendors, and tools and experience overseeing geographically distributed and culturally diverse workgroups
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and IT service management (incident/problem/change) practices
  • A broad understanding of general business and management practices and system design techniques and controls
  • Strong influencing/negotiation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of business and technology trends and strong interpersonal/Leadership, initiative and innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, establish and track key performance metrics and key indicators and to prepare reports and analyses for management review and action
  • Analytical orientation, with demonstrated ability to organize and structure detailed information and to identify and analyze key trends

ALL ABOUT TECHNOLOGY:
Our Technology organization combines planning, analysis, and development in combination with both enterprise retail and manufacturing platforms as well as custom development using primarily Java, web services, and web application frameworks like ReactJS/NodeJS. The Technology organization manages priorities through a centralized quarterly planning in close collaborative with business decision-making and strategy, directly supporting leadership in Marketing, Sales, Digital & Operations. Delivery is managed through typically an agile, two-week scrum or Kanban methodology leveraging a suite of Atlassian products. The Technology teams are structured organizationally to focus on key platforms and the business units that they. Though the utilization of best-in-class technical software, such as AWS, Tableau, SAP BPC, Oracle EBS, Salesforce, & Microsoft 360, you will get to play a critical role in determining technology solutions that steer our business.
