About this role
The Opportunity:
The rapid growth of TDK’s product diversity and volume has resulted in the need for a hands-on Sr. Staff Engineer for Foundry Process Technology within the Core Technology Team. This individual contributor will have broad responsibilities which include:
Optimize and develop MEMS processes for new products with our foundry partners from initial development to process qualification and transfer to mass production.
Work with foundry partners to develop new MEMS process technology and its release to manufacturing.
Work with foundry partners to provide drive process improvements related to inline/offline/PCM/CP data.
Work with foundry partners to provide solutions for FT yield loss and validation failure related issues during process line development phase.
Support risk assessment for process change.
Requirements:
Education: Minimum requirement Masters (PhD preferred) – Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
Broad experience with semiconductor and MEMS processing ideally in both fab and fabless organizations.
Experience with foundry process integration and process development.
Experience with Process Module development
Experience with rigorous statistical data analysis, multi-variate data modeling, statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) at the level of an instructor.
Strong background in leading industry standard quality techniques (six sigma master black belt preferred).
Demonstrated track record of developing emerging technologies and releasing to production.
Experience growing and developing highly motivated and efficient teams.
Willing to travel, having good communication skills
Additional desirable skills:
MEMs Motion inertial sensors experience.
MEMS/CMOS process including etching, deposition, thin film, photolithography, wafer thinning techniques.
Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, and their interactions with processes

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD 132,000 and 170,000 for San Jose, CA. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role is also eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
For remote positions, the range may be lower dependent on location. This will be addressed during the recruitment conversation with the recruiter.
