As a Test Engineer at Nokia Defense, you will play a pivotal role in the development and validation of advanced defense communication solutions. Nokia Defense develops secure, resilient, and mission-critical communication solutions for defense and government customers. Our solutions combine advanced radio technologies, secure networking, software platforms, cloud-native architectures, sensing capabilities, and next-generation communications systems to support demanding operational environments.

We are looking for curious and collaborative engineer with a broad interest in technology. The role offers broad development opportunities while fostering collaboration and co-creation. 

Responsibilities

  • Execute field verification and end-to-end testing activities.
  • Validate system functionality, performance, coverage, mobility and interoperability.
  • Analyze test results, logs, measurements and KPIs.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis with development teams.
  • Participate in customer trials, demonstrations and acceptance testing.
  • Develop and maintain test automation and reporting solutions.
  • Contribute to validation of next-generation communication and autonomous systems.
  • Improve testing methodologies and operational readiness capabilities.

Qualifications

Must-have: 

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated programming or scripting skills (preferably Python).
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid personal identification document from a NATO-member country.
  • Fluency to work in English and willingness to travel occasionally and work in outdoor testing environments.

 

Nice-to-have: 

  • Experience with testing, verification or test automation.
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment and data analysis tools.
  • Experience in working with Linux environments and automated test frameworks.
  • Knowledge of 4G/5G, RF technologies, tactical communications or mission-critical networks, drones, autonomous systems, cybersecurity or defense technologies.
  • Valid driving license.

 

Please note that the candidate needs to pass/have a valid Finnish security clearance check. Additionally, this role is based in Finland and we are not offering international relocation option for this position.
