The successful candidate will possess deep and wide expertise in optical module test technologies, strong analytical capabilities, and extensive hands-on laboratory experience. You will work in Agile style together with Firmware (FW) team, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Hardware Systems, Optical System Group, and other business units to deliver industry-leading optical module firmware.

Responsibilities
- Technical leadership in validation of Optical Coherent Pluggable firmware features and interoperability
- Being quality gatekeeper of Nokia optical coherent pluggable firmware delivery by validating firmware feature validation and interoperability
- Working with scrum team in Agile style, developing and executing test strategies for CMIS-compliant coherent modules, conducting manual/auto testing. Enhance existing Python scripts and design new test cases script via fluent python coding skill
- Analyze test reports to allocate firmware bug, including customer field issue reproduction and deep investigation
- Provide reliable on-site support for the optical Firmware System Integration Test (SIT) Ottawa lab, including setup of test equipment and optical components, 3+days/week is required in our office/lab
- Drive AI/ML-driven test strategy transformation via utilizing existing AI toolkits to drive AI powered testing process enhancements, share and consume AI tools and skills with colleagues and teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline testing workflows and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of Optical Coherent technologies (400G/800G ZR/ZR+), and solid experience in Firmware Validation of Optical Coherent Modules (ZR/ZR+, DWDM, CMIS-based pluggable)
Proficient in Python programming, knowledge of Python automation and test frameworks
Knowledge of CMIS specifications
Deep understanding of optical module HW/SW interface including I2C/I3C, UART, SGMII
Hands-on experience of optical transmitter/Receiver characteristics and digital diagnostics, familiar with module optical performance
Experience with data center operation
Hands-on telecommunication traffic generation, optical test equipment, and log analysis
Typically, 6+ years directly related experience and a graduate equivalent degree
