As a Senior Purchasing Manager at Hitachi Energy, you will lead factory-level purchasing and procurement activities that are critical to maintaining production continuity and achieving business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to influence sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
In this role, you will oversee purchasing operations for direct materials and services, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time while balancing quality, cost, and delivery expectations. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and global sourcing teams, including support teams based in India, to create efficient and scalable procurement processes. Your leadership will help develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

How You'll Make an Impact
Lead end-to-end purchasing activities for direct materials, indirect spend, and factory services.
Ensure material availability to support production schedules and operational requirements.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
Build strong partnerships with local, regional, and global suppliers while managing commercial negotiations.
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, finance, and operations teams to align procurement objectives with business goals.
Utilize SAP and other ERP systems to manage procurement transactions, reporting, and process improvements.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of purchasing professionals while fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
Partner effectively with global support teams, including colleagues in India, to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
10+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience managing or leading procurement teams and cross-functional initiatives.
Strong knowledge of the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including sourcing, purchase order management, supplier management, receiving, and invoicing.
Experience working with SAP and other ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
